In 64 Kapiteln referiert er die mit den Sternbildern verbundenen antiken Mythen und deutet sie in rationalistischer Weise.Die Neuausgabe bietet den lateinischen Text in photomechanischer Reproduktion des Originals von 1662, versehen mit textkritischen Anmerkungen, sowie eine deutsche Übersetzung im Paralleldruck. Ein Kommentarband ist in Vorbereitung
