    Inhalt: In dem 1492 entstandenen lateinischen Textensemble hat der Humanist Conradus Celtis seine Vorstellungen über eine Bildungsreform vorgelegt. Außer Widmungs- und Begleitgedichten enthält der Band ein panegyrisches Dankgedicht für die Berufung auf die Ingolstädter Professur, worin das neue Programm systematisch entwickelt wird: Die traditionellen Lehrfächer der noch weitgehend mittelalterlich-scholastisch geprägten Universität sollen in Hinblick auf Geschichtsschreibung und Naturwissenschaften erweitert, Sprache, Stil und rhetorische Fähigkeiten wieder auf das in der Antike erreichte Niveau gehoben und zugleich eine sittliche, aber auch politisch-nationale Erneuerung eingeleitet werden. In der am 31.8.1492 gehaltenen Rede wird dieses Programm, jetzt eher emotional und affektiv, der akademischen Öffentlichkeit vorgetragen. In diesem Werk wird erstmalig die Gesamtheit der Texte in der von Celtis gewählten Zusammenstellung mit deutscher Übersetzung und ausführlichen Erläuterungen vorgelegt, ergänzt durch Dokumente, welche die Entstehung dieses humanistischen Programms dokumentieren. Die Publikation erschließt somit ein beachtenswertes Dokument der frühneuzeitlichen deutschen Geistesgeschichte.
