    Der Autor rekonstruiert unter Einbeziehung jüngster archäologischer Erkenntnisse detailliert das Ende der Bronzezeit im östlichen Mittelmeer, das für ihn eng mit dem Untergang Trojas verbunden ist. (Ernst Zimmermann) Anders als es der etwas reißerische Titel vermuten läßt, rekonstruiert Zangger unter Einbeziehung jüngster archäologischer Erkenntnisse detailliert das Ende der Bronzezeit im östlichen Mittelmeer, das für ihn eng mit dem Untergang Trojas verbunden ist. Dabei gelingt ihm ähnlich wie in "Atlantis" (BA 8/92), das er verblüffend, aber durchaus plausibel mit Troja gleichsetzte, eine überzeugende Synthese mit der griechischen Mythologie. Er entwickelt eine allgemeinverständliche, unspekulative, dennoch in der Fachwelt sicher Widerspruch erregende Theorie, nach der Troja nicht unbedeutendes Ziel eines griechischen Raubzuges, sondern Mittelpunkt einer noch unzureichend erforschten Hochkultur Westanatoliens war, die bisher als sogenannte "Seevölker" in die Literatur einging. Als Fortführung seines 1. Buches ebenso zu empfehlen wie zur Ergänzung von M. Siebler (BA 6/91) oder M. Wood: "Der Krieg um Troja" (Umschau, 1985). (2) (Ernst Zimmermann)
