    Die Übersetzung von Kinder- und Jugendliteratur eröffnet ein breites Spektrum an Herausforderungen: Da das Verhältnis zwischen dem Autor und seinem jungen Zielpublikum in kognitiver, sprachlicher und entwicklungspsychologischer Hinsicht asymmetrisch ist, muss der Übersetzer anstreben, dieses Gefälle durch verschiedene Strategien auszugleichen. Prinzipiell stehen dem Übersetzer hierfür zwei Lösungswege offen: die einbürgernde Übersetzung einerseits und die verfremdende Übersetzung andererseits. Übersetzer für Kinder- und Jugendliteratur greifen häufig auf die einbürgernde Übersetzung zurück, da diese es ermöglicht, die Alterität des Ausgangstexts zu reduzieren und die Verständlichkeit der Übersetzung sicherzustellen. Die Verwendung von verschiedenen Registern, Dialekten, Fachjargons, Jugendsprache oder Phantasiesprachen stellt eine weitere Hürde dar, die der Übersetzer überwinden muss. Nicht zu vernachlässigen sind zudem die Herausforderungen, die sich aus der Verwendung fingierter Mündlichkeit ergeben: Diese Erzählstrategie wird bewusst eingesetzt, um dem Text Eindringlichkeit und Lokalkolorit zu verleihen. Im vorliegenden Beitrag sollen die oben beschriebenen Schwierigkeiten anhand von Übersetzungen einiger Kinderbücher von Otfried Preußler (Das kleine Gespenst) und Christine Nöstlinger (Konrad oder Das Kind aus der Konservenbüchse; Wir pfeifen auf den Gurkenkönig) in die romanischen Sprachen analysiert werden.

    Racism is a treatment of a race who considers his race as superior and other race as inferior. People who consider their self as superior think that they have special right among the inferior races.12 Years a Slave is a movie that clearly illustrates how racism occurs. This movie which is taken from a true story on the novel that written by Solomon Northup directed by Steve Mc.Queenand filmed on November 23th, 2013 in America. This research is a criticism of literary sociology that views literary works as a reflection of the social conditions of society in real life. This study tries to find: 1.The condition of Solomon Northup’s life as seen in 12 Years a Slave movie by Steve Mc. Queen. 2. The forms racism that experienced by Salomon Northup’s as seen in 12 Years a Slave movie by Steve Mc. Queen. Afterwards this research uses the theory of racism from George M. Fedrickson, how to view someone against others who are no better than him which then leads to actions that are not in accordance with human rights as happened by Solomon Northup. Then this research supported by the sociological approach of NyomanKhutaRatna who tried to see the relationship between the contents of literary works and aspects of society. After analyzing the data, this researcher found out how the condition of Solomon Northup as the main character. The condition when Solomon Northup is a free Negro, the cause so that the Solomon Northup can be trapped inside slavery, how the conditions that live in Solomon Northup become a slave and how he tried to out of slavery. After that how was the condition of Solomon Northup after he got his freedom. Then researchers also found forms of racism experienced by Solomon Northup that are: discrimination, prejudice, and segregation. From these results all researchers can see how the social conditions of the people at that time, specifically how acts of racism are rampant which resulted in a social system that violates human rights rules called slavery.

    This thesis discusses the influence of the life background of female characters that influence the formation of sexual orientation in The Girl King film by Mika Kaurismaki. The film tells of the Swedish queen's scandal, Christina, whose sexual orientation is lesbian contact with her own personal lady, Ebba Sparre, whose sexual orientation is bisexual. The purposes of this study are: first, to find out the sexual orientation of female characters in The Girl King film. Second, to know the factors that influences the sexual orientation of women in The Girl King film. This research uses the Queer theory and Psychoanalysis approach. The method used is a Qualitative research and Descriptive method to analyze data in this study. The sources of data are taken from scenes, gesture, expression, and dialogue in The Girl King film by Mika Kaurismaki. The findings in this research are that there are two sexual orientations of female characters in The Girl King film, namely lesbian: someone who has an interest in emotional, sexual, physical, in fellow women, and bisexual: someone who has a physical attraction, emotional, sexual, in both sexes of men and women. The second finding in this research is that that the factors that cause sexual orientation in Christina and Ebba Sparre are spontaneous or accidental feeling and a result long terms interaction with another woman. The third finding in this research is the influence of life background toward Christina and Ebba Sparre are parenting and family environment family factors.

    In this research, the writer analyzes the symbols used by fairies in Rise of the Guardian. The thesis entitled “The Symbols used by Fairies as seen in Rise of the Guardians by Peter Ramsey”. The formulation of the problems of this thesis are : 1) What are kinds of the symbol used by fairies as seen in Rise of the Guardians movie. 2) How does the fairies symbol close to children in movie. 3) What are the effect of the symbols to children as seen in Rise of the Guardian movie. The aims of this thesis are: 1) To know what kinds of the Fairies Symbols as seen on the Rise of Guardians Cartoon movie. 2) To know how does the fairies symbol close to children in movie. 3) To know what are the effect of the symbols to children as seen in Rise of the Guardians movie. In doing this research the writer used Pierce theory symbol and used objective approach from Abrams to find out and to know the symbols also effect of the symbols toward the children, in the Rise of the Guardians movie. In anlyzing the writer used qualitative method and descriptive technique for presenting and analyzing the data. The data of the research is from Rise of the Guardians cartoon movie. This research used several steps: first, the writer watch the movie repeatedly. Then collect all of the data from the movie, take note the data and last identify also analyse the symbols in Rise of the Guardians movie. From the research, the writer found some the symbols in movie which is into conventional symbol such as colour, nature, gold, season and weather. the writer also found how does the fairies symbol close to children because based on the film, the fairies symbols close to children related with something that believed. and the last, the writer found what are the effect of the symbols used by the fairies are the guardians toward the children in the movie. For example the character of Jack that used snow symbol, then the snow give the possitive effect such as the children happy with the snow.

    This thesis analyzed about the Safety Need Reflected in the Valley of Shadows Novel by Dorothy Daniels. For data collection techniques, this study uses documentation techniques to collect data and descriptive analysis for data analysis techniques. The results of this thesis are; (1) Nancy Keith's character in the novel is a protagonist and can be described as the life of the main character from life in the village of Sycamore, living in a cabin, she is a great teacher, a condition that is not good in Nancy's life; (2). there are two ways the main character fulfill her safety needs, they are : 1. Commitment: a. she safe her identity, b. she gets a safe place 2. Making a good relationship: a. asking protection from her aunt and her friend, b. she wants trust from others; (3) there are some effects in fulfilling Nancy's sense of safety,they are: 1.
