    The theory, practice and engagement of (en)gendered New Testament hermeneutics characterise the work of Lilly Nortjé-Meyer over three-and-a-half decades. By focusing on the main areas that emerged in her research, this article indicates and assesses the contribution of her work to local and international biblical scholarship. Special attention is given to her work on the Fourth Gospel, gender-critical concerns, family or household, and sex and homoeroticism in the New Testament.
