Anhand historischer und aktueller Beispiele sowie eigener Forschungen zeigt der renommierte amerikanische Sozialpsychologe im Detail, wie gruppendynamische Prozesse, situative Kräfte und das soziale Umfeld zusammenwirken können, um aus anständigen Bürgern Folterknechte und Mörder zu machen. So analysiert er unter anderem das Phänomen, dass ursprünglich unbescholtene amerikanische Soldaten in Abu Ghraib Misshandlungen und Folterungen begangen haben. Auch die Mittäterschaft politischer und militärischer Entscheidungsträger arbeitet er deutlich heraus. Eine hochbrisante Studie, die bereits viel Beachtung in den Medien gefunden hat. (2)

So analysiert er unter anderem das Phänomen, dass ursprünglich unbescholtene amerikanische Soldaten in Abu Ghraib Misshandlungen und Folterungen begangen haben. Auch die Mittäterschaft politischer und militärischer Entscheidungsträger arbeitet er deutlich heraus. Eine hochbrisante Studie, die bereits viel Beachtung in den Medien gefunden hat. (2)
