    ger: Ausgehend vom Ansatz der kognitiven Linguistik werden in dieser Arbeit Metaphern in französischen Fußballartikeln untersucht. Dabei wird gezeigt, wie der Sport metaphorisch strukturiert und konzeptualisiert wird. Ebenfalls wird untersucht, ob es sich in diesen Artikeln überwiegend um konventionnelle Metaphern handelt und ob diese hautpsächlich martialischen Charakter haben. Des Weiteren wird ebenfalls die Rolle der Metapher in der Fachsprache thematisiert.

Transkulturelle Kommunikation in der FußballberichterstattungGeorg KallingerDiese Arbeit befasst sich mit journalistischer Berichterstattung über die Sportart Fußball in Österreich und Italien. Es wird der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern sich verschiedene Fußballrealitäten in den jeweiligen Ländern im Laufe der Zeit entwickelt haben. Unter Beleuchtung der jeweiligen (Sport-)Medienlandschaften wird überdies untersucht, wie sich unterschiedliche Fußballdiskurse in Österreich bzw. Italien manifestiert haben. In der Arbeit wird von der Hypothese ausgegangen, dass sich die sportlich-diskursiven Realitäten Italiens und Österreichs, die den Fußball betreffen, aufgrund in den Diskursen verwendeter kultureller Spezifika stark voneinander unterscheiden. Um diese Hypothese zu beweisen, wird eine Diskursanalyse nach dem Modell von James Paul Gee vorgenommen. Anhand einer Abhandlung ausgewählter Beispiele aus der italienischen und österreichischen Online-Berichterstattung zu den Europa-League-Spielen der Vereine Sturm Graz und Juventus Turin erkennt man, dass die italienische Berichterstattung zu den Aufeinandertreffen komplexer erscheint. Die Hypothese kann verifiziert werden.In der Arbeit wird auch auf den Zusammenhang zwischen (Sport-)Journalismus und Translation eingegangen, wobei festgestellt werden kann, dass bei Sprachmittlungsaufgaben im Bereich des Sports oft auf professionell ausgebildete SprachmediatorInnen verzichtet und auf Sportbedienstete vertraut wird. In diesem Zusammenhang zeigt ein ExpertInneninterview mit einem Sportredakteur einer österreichischen Tageszeitung auf, dass die Tätigkeit von professionell ausgebildeten SprachmittlerInnen in vielen Bereichen der Sportberichterstattung (z. B. im Fußball) eine Hilfestellung darstellen würde. So kann ein potenzielles Marktsegment für SprachmediatorInnen präsentiert werden, auch vor dem Hintergrund der in dieser Arbeit dargestellten komplexen Diskurse in Fußballberichten. eng: Journalists as translators? Transcultural communication in the field of football news coverageGeorg KallingerThis thesis addresses several aspects of Austrian and Italian football news coverage. The study will deal with the question of how different football realities have emerged within these two countries in the course of time. Analyzing the Austrian as well as the Italian sports media landscape, the thesis will furthermore focus on the manifestation of different football discourses within the countries in question. The hypothesis constructed is that the two football realities in Austria and Italy vary a great deal due to cultural specifics used in the different discourses. In order to prove the hypothesis a discourse analysis based on the work of James Paul Gee is carried out. Through a step-by-step analysis of examples taken out of the Austrian and Italian online news coverage of the UEFA Europa League qualifier matches between Sturm Graz and Juventus Turin it can be demonstrated that the Italian coverage is more complex than the Austrian one. The hypothesis can be verified.Furthermore, the connection between sports journalism and translation will be addressed in the course of this thesis. It can be shown that sports officials or servants are more likely to be entrusted with linguistic intermediation or translational tasks in the field of sports news coverage than professional translators. An expert interview with a sports journalist for an Austrian daily newspaper demonstrates that the work of professional language mediators would provide assistance in many fields of sports (such as football news coverage). Hence, a potential market segment for language mediators can be presented, bearing in mind also the complex discourse realities analyzed in this thesis.
