Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002) est l'un des plus grands sculpteurs de la seconde moitié du XXe siècle. Dès le début des années 1950, l'artiste espagnol décide de créer ses sculptures directement au feu, dans la forge. En associant de manière inédite un travail ancestral à la modernité artistique, il participe au renouvellement d'une sculpture qui fait fi des contraintes de la matière. Chillida, l'humaniste, n'aura de cesse toute sa vie de repousser les limites de son art.
