    El objetivo de este estudio es analizar los diferentes procesos de desagregación temporal y presentar un ejercicio de trimestralización para el PIB de América Latina y el Caribe a través de modelos indirectos con indicadores que permiten obtener estimaciones trimestrales basadas en la magnitud de las series anuales. Para ello se utilizaron diferentes métodos, para lo cual fue necesario contar con las series anuales de la región (33 países) y con las series trimestrales para los países disponibles (20 países), a partir del primer trimestre del 2005 al cuarto trimestre del 2017. La implementación de los modelos permitió estimar una serie del PIB trimestral para los 33 países, con la cual se analizó las diferencias entre los diferentes modelos testeados. Además, se realizó un ejercicio de extrapolación de las series, con el fin de analizar su poder de predicción de corto y mediano plazo debido a la importancia que tiene una serie del PIB trimestral en términos de cuantificación y diseño de política económica.     La educación técnico-profesional viene experimentado transformaciones substantivas en la región, aunque con diferentes ritmos y grados de concreción en cada país. En las últimas décadas a la par que se asiste a una incorporación masiva de las mujeres al mercado de trabajo, se registra una tendencia creciente de la elección de carreras técnicas y, en consecuencia, un aumento de la matrícula en el nivel de formación media y superior. No obstante sus niveles de capacitación y habilidades, las mujeres siguen en desventaja de cara al acceso al trabajo, a las condiciones laborales y a las brechas salariales. En este contexto, el estudio indaga sobre las coordenadas históricas y actuales de la educación técnico-profesional en Argentina. Desde un enfoque cualitativo, se analizan las trayectorias de mujeres egresadas de la educación técnico-profesional de diferentes generaciones, perfiles profesionales y situaciones laborales, poniendo de relieve los desafíos por delante, las barreras y estereotipos culturales que obstaculizan sus logros, las oportunidades que han generado en estos tránsitos, y los impactos en sus autonomías. A través del conocimiento producido sobre la situación de estas mujeres se espera contribuir al diseño de políticas públicas que refuercen los nexos entre educación y trabajo, y a la construcción de sistemas educativos y laborales con igualdad de género.     Mainstreaming the gender perspective in national statistical systems makes it possible to produce information that reflects the circumstances of women and men in all their diversity, and thus to shed light on inequalities in different aspects of life. The Regional Gender Agenda recognizes the need to design informed public policies based on this type of data, as outlined in the Montevideo Strategy for Implementation of the Regional Gender Agenda within the Sustainable Development Framework by 2030, pillar 9, “Information systems: transforming data into information, information into knowledge and knowledge in political decisions”.This document presents the current situation of statistical production with a gender perspective in Latin America and the Caribbean, the factors that have been key to making progress in this area and the remaining challenges. It was prepared within the framework of the systematic review of progress in the implementation of the Montevideo Strategy, with a focus on pillar 9, and is the outcome of the coordinated work of the Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean and the Statistical Conference of the Americas of Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).

    There is mounting empirical evidence that the responsible provision and use of formal financial services have a positive impact on household well-being and enterprise performance. At the individual level, financial inclusion benefits rural households and small producers by facilitating the safe accumulation of assets, enabling them to leverage those assets in order to invest in human and physical capital, and supporting better risk management. The positive effects at the aggregate level are associated with better allocation of scarce resources among different activities.Despite recent progress on different aspects of financial inclusion in Latin America and the Caribbean, large gaps remain, especially in rural areas, which have been historically neglected by traditional providers of financial services. This book describes how these gaps have evolved recently in five countries —Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico— that are at different stages of designing and implementing comprehensive financial inclusion strategies. Then, on the basis of a comparative analysis of the institutional architecture available, it identifies the main barriers preventing small rural producers from accessing and making effective use of the various financial services on offer, with a view to making policy recommendations for overcoming these limitations.     El objetivo de este estudio es analizar los diferentes procesos de desagregación temporal y presentar un ejercicio de trimestralización para el PIB de América Latina y el Caribe a través de modelos indirectos con indicadores que permiten obtener estimaciones trimestrales basadas en la magnitud de las series anuales. Para ello se utilizaron diferentes métodos, para lo cual fue necesario contar con las series anuales de la región (33 países) y con las series trimestrales para los países disponibles (20 países), a partir del primer trimestre del 2005 al cuarto trimestre del 2017. La implementación de los modelos permitió estimar una serie del PIB trimestral para los 33 países, con la cual se analizó las diferencias entre los diferentes modelos testeados. Además, se realizó un ejercicio de extrapolación de las series, con el fin de analizar su poder de predicción de corto y mediano plazo debido a la importancia que tiene una serie del PIB trimestral en términos de cuantificación y diseño de política económica.
