    Das Nibelungenlied zählt zu den zentralen Texten der deutschen Literatur des Mittelalters. Es ist einer der wenigen, die sich auch im kulturellen Gedächtnis unserer Zeit noch behaupten können. Konsequenz ist, dass die Forschungsliteratur zum Nibelungenlied und allgemein zur Nibelungensage vom Einzelnen kaum noch zu überblicken ist. Diesem Umstand trägt das vorliegende Buch Rechnung, dessen Ziel die Sortierung und Ordnung dieser weitläufigen Forschungslandschaft in Form einer kommentierten Bibliographie zur Nibelungenforschung für die Jahre 1945-2010 ist. Die Publikationen sind in nach Jahrgängen sortierten bibliographischen Einträgen erfasst, werden in kurzen, zurückhaltend kritischen Referaten vorgestellt und nach diversen Kategorien verschlagwortet. Querverweise ziehen in das Geflecht von über 3.000 Einträgen kleinere oder auch große Linien ein und machen auf diese Weise forschungsgeschichtliche Strömungen und Paradigmenwechsel sichtbar

    The separation of the Netherlands from the Habsburg Empire in 1581 brought about political and religious independence and the so-called Golden Age in the 17th century, a period of economic and cultural prosperity. Hence, the Netherlands became a magnet for students and scholars from all over Europe. This was also reflected in the translations into German. In the interest of user-friendliness the following emendations have been made in the translation: Personal names are written out in full, except b . for ibn ; Brockelmann's transliteration of Arabic has been adapted to comply with modern standards for English-language publications; modern English equivalents are given for place names, e.g. Damascus, Cairo, Jerusalem, et cetera; several erroneous dates have been corrected, and the page references to the two German editions have been retained in the margin, except in the Supplement volumes, where new references to the first two English volumes have been inserted.     Die Beziehungen zwischen dem niederländischen und deutschen Sprach- und Kulturraum sind seit jeher durch die vielfältigen historischen, wirtschaftlichen und kulturellen Berührungspunkte sehr eng. Die niederländische weltliche und geistliche Literatur des Mittelalters war besonders reich und wirkmächtig. Seit Jahrhunderten entstehen zahlreiche Übersetzungen niederländischer Literatur ins Deutsche. Sie wurden nicht nur von vielen bedeutenden Autoren getragen und gefördert (u. a. Hadewijch und Heinrich von Veldeke), sondern boten für die mittelhochdeutsche Literatur oft überhaupt erst die Brücke zur altfranzösischen Dichtung (Epik um Karl den Großen). Diese Bibliographie dokumentiert nun erstmals umfassend die Rezeption der mittelniederländischen Werke in der deutschen Literatur bis in die heutige Zeit. Als Beitrag zu einer Geschichte der europäischen Kulturbeziehungen erlaubt sie einen ganz neuen Blick auf die Dynamiken des Transfers früher niederländischer Literatur ins deutsche Sprachgebiet. Für die Erforschung der Geschichte der europäischen Literatur- und Kulturbeziehungen ist die Bibliographie ein unerlässliches Grundlagenwerk

    Das deutsche Interesse an der niederländischen Literatur wuchs im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert in hohem Maße. Durch den Abfall der Niederlande vom habsburgischen Imperium 1581 erlangten sie ihre politische und religiöse Unabhängigkeit, was einen wirtschaftlichen sowie kulturellen Aufschwung im 17. Jahrhundert, dem Goldenen Zeitalter der niederländischen Kultur, zur Folge hatte. Damit entwickelten sich die Niederlande zum Anziehungspunkt für Studenten und Gelehrte aus ganz Europa. Dies schlug sich auch in den Übersetzungen ins Deutsche nieder: Neben literarischen Werken aus Renaissance und Barock wurden zahlreiche Flugschriften, historische, theologische und naturwissenschaftliche Texte ins Deutsche übertragen. Die Bibliographie öffnet mit der Erschließung sowohl integraler als auch fragmentarischer Translationen und einem Entstehungszeitraum der Übersetzungen bis in das 21. Jahrhundert den Blick auf die verschiedenen Phasen und Formen der Rezeption niederländischer Texte. Diese Entwicklungen lassen sich nun anhand von über 1.000 aufgenommenen Übersetzungen quantitativ erfassen und bieten Einblicke in die Selektivität des Kulturtransfers. Für die Erforschung der Geschichte der europäischen Literatur- und Kulturbeziehungen ist die Bibliographie ein unerlässliches Grundlagenwerk

Secular and sacred Dutch medieval literature was particularly rich and influential. It was not only supported and promoted by many important authors (incl. Hadewijch and Heinrich von Veldeke) but also often provided the bridge for Middle High German literature to Old French literature (epics around Charlemagne). This bibliography is the first to provide a comprehensive documentation of the reception of Middle Dutch works in German literature up to the present day. As a chapter in the history of European cultural relations, it affords a completely new view of the dynamics of the transfer of early Dutch literature into the German language area.

Die niederländische weltliche und geistliche Literatur des Mittelalters war besonders reich und wirkmächtig. Sie wurde nicht nur von vielen bedeutenden Autoren getragen und gefördert (u. a. Hadewijch und Heinrich von Veldeke), sondern bot für die mittelhochdeutsche Literatur oft überhaupt erst die Brücke zur altfranzösischen Dichtung (Epik um Karl den Großen). Diese Bibliographie dokumentiert nun erstmals umfassend die Rezeption der mittelniederländischen Werke in der deutschen Literatur bis in die heutige Zeit. Als Beitrag zu einer Geschichte der europäischen Kulturbeziehungen erlaubt sie einen ganz neuen Blick auf die Dynamiken des Transfers früher niederländischer Literatur ins deutsche Sprachgebiet. Secular and sacred Dutch medieval literature was particularly rich and influential. It was not only supported and promoted by many important authors (incl. Hadewijch and Heinrich von Veldeke) but also often provided the bridge for Middle High German literature to Old French literature (epics around Charlemagne). This bibliography is the first to provide a comprehensive documentation of the reception of Middle Dutch works in German literature up to the present day. As a chapter in the history of European cultural relations, it affords a completely new view of the dynamics of the transfer of early Dutch literature into the German language area.

Each entry includes the following information: title of the publication, subtitle, parallel title in a foreign language, change in title, editor, multilingualism, series, monograph, publisher, place of publishing, date of first publication, previous publication dates, type of publication and ISSN.
