    Theology as a story of doubt and imagination is to be understood against the background of interdisciplinary social science and in contrast to the traditional paradigm of theology as a system of propositional certainty. The concepts of doubt and imagination are part and parcel of narrative research and can also be linked to postfoundational philosophy. The relevancy of this theological paradigm will be discussed on the basis of the following: (1) It is in touch with its own doubt, (2) It is in touch with its own story (tradition), (3) It can therefore interact with other stories, stories of hope and despair, stories of suffering, stories of power and of marginalisation, (4) It can also imagine alternative stories. Intradisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary implications: The interaction with ‘other stories’, which is one of the important outcomes of this postfoundational approach, makes it possible for theology to be a humble but important participant at the interdisciplinary conversational table.

    This paper conceptualizes a postcolonializing practical theological methodology that maps out the boundary dynamics of spectrality that often characterize the lived experiences on the margin of the empire. It draws from the mathematical understanding of Brownian motion that calculates the random movements of particles, as exposed by quantum mechanics, to construct an image for the postcolonializing practical theology. Then the random movement is explored through the concept of spectrality, which is engaged in dialogue with a 17th century Korean novel, Jangwha Hongryun Jeon, cultural theories and theologies. Dieser Artikel entwirft eine postkolonialisierende praktisch-theologische Methodik und arbeitet die Grenzdynamiken der Spektralität heraus, welche oftmals die gelebten Erfahrungen am Rande von Herrschaftssphären kennzeichnen. Dabei wird Bezug genommen auf die Brown’sche Bewegung, mit der die unregelmäßigen Bewegungen von Teilchen berechnet werden. Diese Bewegung wird ins Gespräch gebracht mit dem Gedanken der Spektralität, mit der Kulturtheorie, mit Theologien und mit einem koreanischen Roman aus dem 17. Jahrhundert.

    Over the past few decades, practical theologians in Korea have devised a framework to address important issues, correlating theory and practice and bridging the divide between pastors and lay people to facilitate open communication. However, the clerical paradigm has deep roots in Korean culture and ideology, which, combined with the Confucian patriarchal system, poses a challenge to Korean practical theology. These factors cause practical theology to reflect on its limitations and to move toward a hermeneutical- praxis paradigm by dealing with Christian praxis , connecting church with society for public responsibility, and providing an egalitarian leadership between pastors and lay people. Praktische Theologinnen und Theologen aus Korea arbeiten seit einigen Jahrzehnten daran, ihr Fach grundlegend umzugestalten. Sie wenden sich gegen das "clerical paradigm" - ein Fachverständnis, das die Praktische Theologie rein applikativ bestimmt und das hierarchische Gefälle zwischen Pfarrpersonen und Laien betont. Die Reformanstrengungen werden durch einige Merkmale des koreanischen Kontextes erschwert. Das "clerical paradigm" ist kulturell tief verwurzelt - im Sinne der unbedingten Hochachtung für Geistliche - und verbindet sich mit dem patriarchalischen Denken des Konfuzianismus. Die koreanische Praktische Theologie stellt sich diesen Herausforderungen, indem sie ein praxishermeneutisches Paradigma entfaltet, auf die öffentliche Verantwortung der Kirchen hinweist und sich für die Gleichberechtigung von Pfarrpersonen und Laien in der Kirchenleitung einsetzt.
