    eng: This thesis deals with the issue, which of the non-musical aspects influences the coverage most strongly and also, if different medial treatment because of said aspects can have an influence on male musicians, too. The example therefore is David Bowie, who was heavily discussed in the media for his entire career because of his scandalous coming out in 1972. The research consists of a Qualitative Data Analysis (QDA) on a textual basis. The text samples are articles from the German magazine “Musikexpress” from the time period from 1972 to 1976. Goal of the analysis is to find out which non-musical issues are most often addressed and with which intention specific topics, like the sexuality of the musician, are covered. As the research shows, men might be affected from the discrimination caused by thematisation of non-musical aspects as well – in my assumption, if they fit into a certain criteria. My conjecture is biased, as I am the one who did the research and read and researched much about the topic herself. In order to carry on the research in that field, I believe that an approach like the one I applied is reasonably for what I wanted to achieve. As mentioned before it would need more people, more resources and more space to study that issue as much as it needs to be.
