    Das literaturhistorische Wachstum des Jakob-Zyklus wie auch seine historischen Hintergründe sind denkbar komplex und viele Selbstverständlichkeiten der Forschung sind in den vergangenen Jahren in Frage gestellt worden. It seems to be one of the oldest origin traditions preserved in the Hebrew Bible. In spite of the previous consensus in the field, new studies and current archaeological findings have scrutinized several of the previous “certainties”, leading to a debate on whether some of the basic assumptions should be modified or even rejected.This volume comprises seven articles from renowned international specialists in the field that offer comprehensive insights into new approaches and current research questions.     Röm 7,7–25 ist das Kernstück eines umfangreichen Adam-Sünde-Tod-Komplexes in den Protopaulinen. Es hat eine reichhaltige Auslegungstradition hervorgebracht, die Jan Dochhorn in diesem Band in Grundzügen nachzeichnet. Als Hintergrund des Textes identifiziert er die Apokalypse des Mose (Apc Mos). Damit ergibt sich die Möglichkeit, die Apc Mos genauer zu datieren und die Entstehungsgeschichte des jüdischen Adammythos zu beschreiben. Ferner lassen sich die Apc Mos und mehrere mit ihr verwandten Werke dem Milieu von Diasporarückwanderern in Jerusalem zuordnen, dem Paulus angehörte und von dem das frühe Christentum wesentliche Anregungen empfing. Theologisch ergeben sich mit dieser Arbeit Konsequenzen vor allem für die Anthropologie, Hamartiologie und Nomologie des Paulus, die systematisch dargestellt werden und mit denen sich für die Dogmatik, die kirchliche Verkündigung und das Gespräch zwischen den Konfessionen neue Impulse ergeben sollen. Adam, sin, death and the law are the core elements of Paul's view of the pre-Christian history of humankind. Paul developed this view using the Apocalypse of Moses, with which he had become familiar in Jerusalem before he became a Christian, as his background. In this study, Jan Dochhorn reveals how the myth of Adam emerged among the Greek-speaking Jews in Jerusalem and identifies several parabiblical texts as products of this milieu, which probably had a greater impact on Pauline theology and early Christianity than other strands of ancient Judaism.
