    Traum und Landschaft als maßgebliche Konstituenten der frühromantischen und romantischen Poesie und Philosophie haben - mit Unterbrechungen - immer wieder das Interesse der Forschung auf sich gelenkt. Bisher blieb allerdings der enge Zusammenhang dieser beiden Phänomene im Sinne einer romantischen Selbstartikulation weitgehend unberücksichtigt. Um es überspitzt zu formulieren: Entweder richtet sich das Forschungsinteresse auf eine phänomenologische Deskription und kritische Evaluation der romantischen Landschaften, wobei die, wie ich meine, notwendige komplementäre Kategorie des Traumes nur am Rande, etwa unter den Termini "Stimmungslandschaften" oder "Seelenlandschaften" 1 Eingang in diese Studien findet; oder der Schwerpunkt liegt umgekehrt auf der 2 Erforschung der Bedeutung und Wiederentdeckung des Traumes , ohne dann freilich das Medium "Landschaft", an dem sich die Traumerfahrung essentiell manifestiert, genügend in den Blick zu nehmen. Dabei hat die romantische Naturphilosophie selbst immer wieder die Verbindung von Traum und Natur betont; in der "Symbolik des Traumes" führt Schubert aus: Von jenen Bildern und Gestalten, denen sich die Sprache des Traumes, so wie der Poesie und der höheren prophetischen Region als Worte bedienen, finden wir die Originale in der uns umgebenden Natur, und diese erscheint uns schon hierrinnen als eine verkörperte Traumwelt . .

    Water management runs in the blood of the Dutch. Draining the Netherlands and keeping it dry is a process they started centuries ago and continue to this day. But will this still suffice? In the project Sweet & Salt (book and exhibition) author and journalist Tracy Metz and curator Maartje van den Heuvel demonstrate, in text and images, how the Netherlands shapes its evolving relationship with water. The sea level is rising, rivers are swelling, there is more rain, there are more storms and sometimes there's a drought. There is a growing awareness that not just dikes and dams but natural processes too play a significant role in our security. This is the greatest challenge currently facing Dutch designers. There is also increasing attention given to the aesthetics of the water landscape being designed
