    In recent years Doreen Fletcher?s atmospheric urban landscape paintings have reached a wide audience who appreciate her distinctive vision of the changing capital. A superb colourist, she applies her rigorous technique to recording the drama of the city in compelling and authoritative images.00This monograph reveals the full breadth of Doreen Fletcher?s achievement for the first time, including the largest selection of her paintings yet assembled including many unseen pictures from private collections.00For twenty years, Doreen Fletcher painted the streets of East London until, discouraged by lack of recognition, she gave up in 2004.     "This pioneering book explores the notion of 'radical decadence' as concept, aesthetic and lived experience, and as an analytical framework for the study of contemporary feminist textile art. Gendered discourses of decadence that perpetuate anxieties about women's power, consumption and pleasure are deconstructed through images of drug use, female sexuality and 'excessive' living, in artworks by several contemporary textile artists including Orly Cogan, Tracey Emin, Allyson Mitchell, and Rozanne Hawksley. Perceptions of decadence are invariably bound to the negative connotations of decay and degradation, particularly with regard to the transgression of social norms related to femininity and the female body. Excessive consumption by women has historically been represented as grotesque, and until now, women's pleasure in relation to drug and alcohol use has largely gone unexamined in feminist art history and craft studies. Here, representations of female consumption, from cupcakes to alcohol and cocaine, are opened up for critical discussion. Drawing on feminist and queer theories, Julia Skelly considers portrayals of 'bad girls' in artworks that explore female sexuality - performative pieces designed to subvert and exceed feminine roles. A partir de una suerte de diálogos literario-teóricos, Katarzyna Moszczyńska-Dürst, levanta un puente entre novelistas y pensadoras feministas: Rosa Montero y Eva Illouz; Carme Riera y Luce Irigaray; Esther Tusquets y Julia Kristeva; Montserrat Roig y Teresa de Lauretis; Dulce Chacón y Carol Gilligan y Almudena Grandes y Judith Butler. ¿Qué tipo de visiones del amor y de la identidad de las mujeres se encuentran codificadas en la narrativa estudiada? ¿Qué discursos amorosos ocupan un lugar hegemónico y cómo se relacionan con la lógica cultural de la Transición? ¿Tienen el amor y la identidad un carácter subversivo o, al contrario, propugnan ideas conservadoras? ¿Cómo se relacionan la política afectiva, las narraciones culturales y los mecanismos de la construcción de las identidades con el poder? ¿Funciona la perspectiva femenina de la Transición como una perspectiva aparte? La producción literaria, incluso si se refiere a los temas supuestamente aideológicos como el amor, está marcada por el poder y sus discursos, sin dejar por ello de ser un lugar posible de subversión, negociación y reconstrucción.
