    Woolf and the City collects important essays selected from the nearly 200 papers delivered at the nineteenth annual international conference on Virginia Woolf. The volume includes an introduction by the editors, the conference keynote addresses, and twenty-five essays organized around six presiding themes: Navigating London; Spatial Perceptions and the Cityscape; Regarding Others; The Literary Public Sphere; Border Crossings, and Liminal Landscapes; and Teaching Woolf, Woolf Teaching. It also includes a special session of the conference, a round-table conversation on Woolf’s legacy in and out of the academy. Beyond the volume’s focus on urban issues, many of the essays address the ethical and political implications of Woolf’s work, a move that suggests new insights into Woolf as a "real world" social critic. The contributors, who include Ruth Gruber, Molly Hite, Mark Hussey, Tamar Katz, Eleanor McNees, Kathryn Simpson, and Rishona Zimring, advance Woolf studies and the broader fields of narrative studies, cultural geography, urban theory, phenomenology, and gender studies

    Das Phänomen der ‚Textrevisionen‘ ist bislang speziell in Hinblick auf seine editorische Berücksichtigung nicht ausreichend gewürdigt worden: Dem versucht der vorliegende Sammelband der gleichnamigen Grazer Internationalen Fachtagung (2016) für die Fachbereiche der Alt- und Neugermanistik, Musikwissenschaft und Philosophie abzuhelfen. Textrevisionen – im breiten Verständnis von der Änderung einer einzelnen Textstelle bis hin zur Neugestaltung eines gesamten Textes – fordern die Editorik insofern auf ganz besondere Weise heraus, als sie zum einen die heikle Verortung des sog. Autorwillens berühren, wie er sich im Verbund mit verschiedenen ‚autorisierenden‘ Instanzen mehr oder minder offen zu erkennen gibt, vielleicht aber auch selbst in Frage stellt. Zum andern betrifft dieses tendenziell fluide Autorkonzept im Begriff der Textrevision jene expliziten Änderungen am Primärtext, welche als Spuren der Textgenese, ja sogar als Lebensspuren dokumentierbar sind und zugleich Einblicke in metatextuell selbstreflexive Vorgänge oder gar autorspezifische Verschriftungsprozesse gewähren. Dies bestätigen die Beiträge mit spannenden Befunden zu Werkgenesen sowie zum Zusammenwirken von Überlieferungsinstanzen und eröffnen damit neue interpretative Horizonte.      Featuring essays by scholars of ancient and modern German studies, musicology, and philosophy, the common focus of this volume is on the description and critical examination of recorded traces that reveal the process by which works are revised. The findings evoke exciting insights into the genesis of works and the interplay of different transmitted versions, while opening up new pathways for interpretation

Das thematische Spektrum des Bandes ist denkbar weit, sodass er sowohl für Germanisten als auch für Musikwissenschaftler und Philosophiehistoriker von Interesse ist. Erörtert werden spezielle Probleme anhand laufender Editionsprojekte wie auch Modelle von Editionen, die sich erst in der Vorbereitung befinden. Zugleich werden theoretische Aspekte des Rahmenthemas zur Diskussion gestellt, sodass der Band insgesamt eine verlässliche Orientierung über die aktuelle Situation in Editionstheorie und -praxis bereithält Main description: The volume contains papers delivered to the 11th International Specialist Conference of the Working Group for Editing Germanic Texts from 22nd to 25th February 2006 in Weimar. The range of topics covered in the volume is extremely broad, so that it is of interest both for Germanists and for musicologists and historians of philosophy. The papers discuss specific problems arising from current editorial projects and models for editions which are at present in a preparatory stage.     Dieser Sammelband enthält 19 Beiträge von 21 Autor/innen, die sich im Rahmen des interdisziplinären Kolloquiums "Wege zum Text" Mitte September 2008 in Graz zusammenfanden, um das Problem der Verfügbarkeit von Editionen mittelalterlicher deutschsprachiger Texte für Wissenschaft und Lehre zu beleuchten und neue Strategien für einen möglichst ,barrierefreien' Textzugang zu finden. Zur Teilnahme an dieser sehr zielorientierten Veranstaltung waren sowohl führende fachwissenschaftliche Editor/innen eingeladen als auch namhafte Vertreter/innen aus dem Archiv , Bibliotheks- und Verlagswesen sowie Spezialist/innen für Fragen zum Urheberrecht und zu modernen Informations- und Editionstechnologien. Gemeinsam wurde zum einen eine Bestandsaufnahme von bereits laufenden Initiativen für einen möglichst optimalen Zugriff auf gedruckte und elektronische Textdarbietungen geleistet, wobei der Blick auch auf die historischen Überlieferungsträger bzw. deren Digitalisate gerichtet war, und zum anderen diskutierte man ausblickhaft die Einrichtung eines internetbasierten ,Textportals' zur Vernetzung aller verfügbaren Textressourcen mitsamt den daran geknüpften Metainformationen rund um die Entstehung und Weiterentwicklung von Editionen
