    Das Zurücktreten der Erzählstimme in der Literatur der Hebräischen Bibel wurde oft benannt. Dies wurde allerdings nur selten mit der erzähltheoretischen Analysekategorie des Modus fundiert. Letzteres gilt besonders für die Darstellung von Figurenrede. Dabei ist umstritten, ob sich neben direkter und indirekter Rede auch erlebte Rede in der Hebräischen Bibel nachweisen lässt. Diese vor allem von Meir Sternberg vertretene Möglichkeit hat Cynthia L. Miller abgelehnt. Millers Einwände lassen sich aber mit einer linguistisch fundierten Erzählanalyse hinterfragen, was die grundsätzliche Möglichkeit erlebter Rede bei wehinne-Phrasen begründet. Abstract: Frequently it has been pointed out that in Biblical Hebrew literature the narrator tends to be less overt. Nonetheless, this has seldom been substantiated with the narrative mode as an analytical category. The latter especially applies to the representation of speech. Herein, it is debated, if besides direct and indirect speech also free indirect discourse may be attested in the Hebrew Bible. Cynthia L. Miller has denied this possibility, which has been notably advocated by Meir Sternberg. However, using a linguistically substantiated narrative analysis Miller’s objections can be called into question. This justifies the fundamental possibility of free indirect discourse with wehinne-phrases. Dans la littérature de la Bible hébraïque, on a souvent remarqué l’effacement de la voix narrative. Cependant, cette observation n’a été que rarement basée sur la catégorie d’analyse de la théorie narrative du mode. Ceci est particulièrement vrai pour la représentation du discours des personnages. Outre le discours direct et indirect, l’existence du discours indirect libre dans la Bible hébraïque est controversée. Cynthia L. Miller a rejeté cette possibilité, défendue notamment par Meir Sternberg. Les objections de Miller peuvent cependant être remises en question par une analyse linguistique des récits et justifient la possibilité fondamentale d’un discours indirect libre dans les phrases wehinne (et voici).
