    Abstract: Eine Reihe von Krisen, die heute den Blick in die Zukunft prägen, sind seit Langem wissbar und in diesem Sinne vorhersehbar. Nicht die Unvorhersehbarkeit ist das Drama, sondern die Vorhersehbarkeit samt der Weigerung, zur Kenntnis zu nehmen, was gewusst werden konnte. Deutlicher denn je und für mehr Menschen steht heute vor Augen, dass mit großer Dringlichkeit Probleme von planetarischer Reichweite angegangen werden müssen. Damit ist die schwierige Frage aufgeworfen, wie eine Verständigung gelingen kann, die den fälligen Perspektivwechsel auf das „gesellschaftliche Naturverhältnis“ vollzieht und Zukunft als unaufschiebbare Aufgabe sozial-ökologischer Transformation begreift. Das gegenwärtige Verhältnis zur Zukunft ist von tiefgreifenden Kontingenz- und Ungewissheitserfahrungen bestimmt, zugleich aber auch von der Herausforderung, die historisch gewordenen und sattsam bekannten Problemverursachungen der „imperialen ...

    What is the cultural dimension of sustainability? This book offers a thought-provoking answer, with a theoretical synthesis on »cultures of sustainability«. Describing how modernity degenerated into a culture of unsustainability, to which the arts are contributing, Sacha Kagan engages us in a fundamental rethinking of our ways of knowing and seeing the world.     Abstract: Quo vadis Berufs- und Wirtschaftspädagogik? Die Käthe und Ulrich Pleiß-Stiftung befragt anlässlich ihres zehnjährigen Jubiläums ehemalige Preisträgerinnen und Preisträger, die heute eine Professur bekleiden, zu Potenzialen der berufs- und wirtschaftspädagogischen Forschung. Zudem werden die Autor:innen gebeten, sich perspektivisch zu Fragen der thematischen und methodologischen Schwerpunktsetzung zu äußern. Ihre Positionierungen werden von Kolleginnen und Kollegen der Vorgängergeneration engagiert kritisch und konstruktiv diskutiert. So entsteht zu grundlegenden Fragen der Disziplin, zu ihren Erkenntnisleistungen und Problemlösebeiträgen ein lebendiger Diskurs, wie er in jeder Wissenschaft von Zeit zu Zeit zu führen ist.
