    Das Jahrbuch „Lied und populäre Kultur“ 65/2020 ist den populären Liedern des langen 19. Jahrhunderts gewidmet, sind diese doch in doppelter Hinsicht Marginalisierungen unterworfen: einerseits dem negativen Werturteil der historischen Musikwissenschaft, zum anderen dem Desinteresse der aktuellen Popmusikforschung. Als Vorschlag zu einer Verständigung sollen diese Lieder als Ausdruck einer die Welt verändernden Epoche zwischen Spätaufklärung und Erstem Weltkrieg betrachtet und in ihren kulturellen Kontexten verortet werden.

    Die gesamteuropäische Erzähltradition der Sieben weisen Meister ist trotz ihrer langen und breiten Überlieferungsgeschichte vom 12. bis zum 19. Jahrhundert bisher nur in Teilen erschlossen. Die Studie widmet sich dieser Überlieferungsgeschichte und der besonderen erzählerischen Modularität der Exempelsammlung in einer Untersuchung von 12 deutschsprachigen Versionen und Fassungen, die hermeneutische Lektüren, narratologische Formalisierungen und textstatistische Beobachtungen miteinander verbindet. Auf diese Weise geraten zum einen strukturelle Phänomene - textübergreifende und textspezifische Eigenschaften, Logiken des seriellen Erzählens, Formen der Verknüpfung von Rahmen- und Binnenerzählung - in den Blick. Zum anderen erlauben die Vergleiche informierte Textlektüren, die didaktische, juristische, informationstheoretische und geschlechtergeschichtliche Fragestellungen verfolgen und strukturelle Eigenschaften mit möglichen Bearbeitungsintentionen verbinden. In ihrer methodisch-inhaltlichen Ausrichtung verbindet die Studie Formen der Textanalyse aus der Digitalen Literaturwissenschaft mit Perspektiven der Germanistischen Mediävistik. This study examines the German tradition of the "Seven Wise Masters" in the form of a digital examination that combines hermeneutical readings, narratological formalization, and statistical textual observations. In this way, it focuses on the principle of serial narration, which has had a considerable impact on narrative traditions, as well as the unique features of individual versions and editions.

    The digital transformation is accompanied by two simultaneous processes: digital humanities challenging the humanities, their theories, methodologies and disciplinary identities, and pushing computer science to get involved in new fields. But how can qualitative and quantitative methods be usefully combined in one research project? What are the theoretical and methodological principles across all disciplinary digital approaches? This volume focusses on driving innovation and conceptualising the humanities in the 21st century.     Computergestützte Lektüren und philologisch-hermeneutische Textinterpretation miteinander zu vereinbaren oder sie füreinander nutzbar zu machen, ist Ziel dieses Bandes. In diesem Sinne kombinieren die hier vorgelegten Analysen zum frühneuzeitlichen Pastoralroman am Beispiel von Honoré d’Urfés fünfbändigem Werk L’Astrée (1607–1627) die Methoden des close und distant reading und wenden u. a. das Verfahren des sogenannten topic modeling an. Es geht den beiden Autoren dabei explizit nicht allein um quantitative Ergebnisse, sondern vor allem um inhaltsbezogene literaturwissenschaftliche Untersuchungen. The aim of this book is to unite computer-aided lectures of literary texts with lectures that follow the philological-historical tradition: Both methods should be complementary. According to this aim, the analysis of the five-volume pastoral novel entitled L’Astrée (1607-1627) by Honoré d’Urfé will combine close and distant reading and employ the method of the so-called topic modeling. This book does not focus on quantitative results, but instead on researches in the field of literary interpretation.
