Der Sammelband behandelt das aktuelle Thema der Raumrelevanz der Digitalisierung. Vor dem Hintergrund allgemeiner Erkenntnisse zur Digitalisierung werden Erfahrungen und Ergebnisse aus dem LAG-Gebiet Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz und Saarland berichtet. Ziel ist es, der Raumwirksamkeit nachzugehen und auf Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten hinzuweisen. Die technischen, ethischen und sozialen Rahmenbedingungen ebenso wie politische Digitalisierungsstrategien sind Gegenstand der ersten Kapitel. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden thematische Schwerpunkte gesetzt: Modellvorhaben im Bereich Smart Cities und Smart Regions, Wohnen, Arbeit, Mobilität, Verwaltung, Tourismus und Gesundheit. Die abgebildeten Handlungs- und Steuerungsbedarfe zur Gestaltung der Digitalisierung, insbesondere für die Raumplanung und kommunale Verwaltungen, zielen darauf ab, Orientierungshilfen zu bieten. Der Band wurde gemeinsam von Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern sowie Praktikerinnen und Praktikern der Raumentwicklung verfasst The volume addresses current topics concerning the spatial relevance of digitalisation. Against the background of general findings on digitalisation, experiences and results from the Regional Working Group Area of Hessen, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland are reported. The objective is to investigate spatial impacts and to point out management possibilities. The technical, ethical and social parameters as well as digitalisation policy strategies are the subject of the first chapter. Thematic focuses in this context are model projects in the field of smart cities and smart regions, housing, work, mobility, administration, tourism and health. The discussion presents the activities and control required to shape digitalisation with the aim of providing orientation, particularly for spatial planning and municipal administrations.
