    Die Unterscheidung von rekonstruktiven Verfahren der empirischen Sozialforschung auf der einen und standardisierten oder auch hypothesenprüfenden Verfahren auf der anderen Seite tritt in dieser Einführung an die Stelle der (methodologisch fragwürdigen) Gegenüberstellung von „qualitativ“ und „quantitativ“. Es werden insbesondere drei Wege der rekonstruktiven Sozialforschung vorgestellt: das narrative Interview, die objektive Hermeneutik und vor allem die dokumentarische Methode. Die unterschiedlichen Methodologien, Theorien und Traditionen der drei Wege rekonstruktiver Sozialforschung werden ebenso erläutert wie die unterschiedlichen Verfahren der Erhebung und Auswertung. Die konkreten Arbeitsschritte der dokumentarischen Methode werden an Text- und Bildbeispielen in Form von Arbeitsanleitungen veranschaulicht.

    In the cultural and social formations of the past, practices exist for the generation and integration of moments having and giving sense with the objective of strengthening the cultural and social cohesion. Such practices and processes have a constructive character, even if this is not always the intention of the actors themselves. As the production of sense is one of the central fields of action of cultural and political practice, the articles examine with an interdisciplinary perspective how, in different contexts, the construction of sense was organized and implemented as a cultural practice.

Zur Vorbereitung der Spanierinnen und Spanier auf den Aufenthalt und das Studium in Deutschland bietet dieses Buch vielfältiges Trainingsmaterial zur Vermittlung interkultureller Kompetenz.
