    This collective volume contains thirty six original studies on various aspects of Ancient Greek language, linguistics and philology written by an international group of leading authorities in the field. The essays are organized in five thematic groups covering a wide variety of issues of ancient Greek linguistics, ranging from epigraphy and the study of individual dialects to various other aspects of the structure of the language, such as phonetics and phonology, morphology, lexicon and word formation, etymology, metrics as well as many syntactic matters and problems of pragmatics and stylistics of the language; a number of essays move in the middle ground where language, linguistics and philology crosscut and cross-fertilize each other with the application of linguistic theory to the study of classical texts. The work is of special relevance to scholars interested in Greek linguistics in general and in particular aspects of the Greek language

    Die Konzepte ,Schreiben' und ,Lesen' unterschieden sich im Altisländischen in vielen Aspekten. Es gab unterschiedliche Sprachen, Schriftsysteme, Materialien, Textsorten, Stimmen und Rahmen. Die involvierten Personen agierten als Schreiber, Verfasser, Leser, Zuhörer oder Auftraggeber. Dem gegenüber stehen verschiedene Verben wie rita, rista, skrifa, dikta, setja saman, lesa oder sjá, die auf spezifische Aspekte referieren. Für die Erforschung der mittelalterlichen Schriftlichkeit ist es deshalb grundlegend, diese Konzepte zu kennen. Trotzdem gab es bisher nur punktuelle Analysen einzelner Aspekte, Lexeme, Texte und Textstellen. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht den Wortschatz erstmals in einem grösseren Textkorpus, das drei zentrale Quellentexte für die mittelalterliche isländische Schriftkultur umfasst. Die Konzepte werden mithilfe der syntagmatischen Relationen analysiert, welche die semantischen Strukturen auf der Ausdrucksseite abbilden. Dies ermöglicht eine systematische Betrachtung der Konzepte und der verschiedenen Aspekte der mittelalterlichen isländischen Schriftlichkeit

    Il recente libro di Lorenzo Tomasin, Europa Romanza (2021), ha avuto il merito rinnovare gli studi sul contatto linguistico, privilegiando testi di consumo e scritti di carattere privato (realizzati tra Medioevo e Rinascimento) in cui si faceva prova di un più o meno consapevole plurilinguismo. Tomasin ha contribuito a «inquadrare il multilinguismo della società e il plurilinguismo degli individui come caratteri fondanti della cultura europea nel suo insieme». Convergenze plurilingui ha raccolto da Europa Romanza l'invito a riflettere su una «costituzione della coscienza linguistica attraverso il confronto e l'incrocio delle esperienze culturali». I lavori di questo volume continuano infatti, idealmente, le sette storie raccontate da Tomasin, tentando di contribuire alla definizione del fenomeno plurilingue. Il plurilinguismo, inteso come intersezione tra diversi volgari o diverse varianti di una stessa lingua, si rivela essere il segno di una funzione culturale e, in alcuni casi, anche una marca di genere testuale. Questo volume è dunque destinato ai linguisti interessati tanto alla formazione delle lingue in contesto europeo quanto al plurilinguismo in chiave storica The concepts of "plurilinguism" and "multilingualism" are normally used in studies dealing with current linguistic realities observed in communities of speakers. The essays are organized in five thematic groups covering a wide variety of issues of ancient Greek linguistics, ranging from epigraphy and the study of individual dialects to various other aspects of the structure of the language, such as phonetics and phonology, morphology, lexicon and word formation, etymology, metrics as well as many syntactic matters and problems of pragmatics and stylistics of the language; a number of essays move in the middle ground where language, linguistics and philology crosscut and cross-fertilize each other with the application of linguistic theory to the study of classical texts. The work is of special relevance to scholars interested in Greek linguistics in general and in particular aspects of the Greek language
