    Postkoloniale Kritik zeigt den Eurozentrismus der Diskurse und Praktiken um „Entwicklung“ auf. Der Band eröffnet Perspektiven zur Bekämpfung globaler Ungleichheit jenseits einer eurozentrischen Weltsicht. Die AutorInnen analysieren die kolonialen Kontinuitäten der gegenwärtigen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit, erkunden dekoloniale Strategien in Forschung und Praxis und skizzieren gelebte Alternativen im Sinne des Post-Development. Julia Schöneberg ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Universität Kassel im DFG-Projekt „Theorizing Post-Development. Towards a reinvention of development theory“. Aram Ziai ist Leiter des Fachgebiets Entwicklungspolitik und Postkoloniale Studien an der Universität Kassel. Mit Beiträgen von Frauke Banse, Anne-Katharina Wittmann, Albert Denk, Esther Kronsbein, Christine Klapeer, Julia Plessing, Meike Strehl, Julia Schöneberg, Gabriela Monteiro und Ruth Steuerwald, Fiona Faye, Jacqueline Krause und Joshua KwesiAikins. Postcolonial critique reveals the Eurocentrism of discourses and practices surrounding ‘development’. This volume opens up perspectives on combating global inequality beyond a Eurocentric world view. The authors analyse the colonial continuities of current development cooperation, explore decolonial strategies in research and practice, and outline alternatives in terms of post-development. Julia Schöneberg is a research assistant at the University of Kassel on the DFG project ‘Theorizing Post-Development. Towards a reinvention of development theory’. Aram Ziai is head of the Department of Development Policy and Postcolonial Studies at the University of Kassel.     This study explores the reception history of the Lord's Prayer in the Ghanaian context. After presenting the current state of research in the Lord's Prayer from an exegetical perspective, this book discusses a wide field of hermeneutical approaches, such as inculturation biblical hermeneutics, mother-tongue biblical hermeneutics, African feminist biblical hermeneutics, liberation biblical hermeneutics and post-colonial biblical hermeneutics. Taking the discussions of these approaches together, it was realised that the general hermeneutical setting in Ghana (and Africa as whole) is reader-centred, i.e. the readers play an active role in the hermeneutical process and the results of the hermeneutical process are aimed at the readers’ contexts and the transformation of those contexts

    Abstract: In West Africa, floods and droughts are the major climate hazards that cause disasters. Ghana is highly susceptible to frequent and severe flooding, particularly impacting its urban poor population. In recent years, the country has endured devastating floods, affecting approximately one million people, with the southeastern region witnessing extreme flooding in October 2023, displacing over 26,000 individuals and causing significant damage due to the Akosombo Dam spillage (European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, 2023). Overall, Ghana has faced at least 33 extreme flood events in the past two decades, highlighting the persistent threat posed by flooding in the country. Floods are affecting human lives, impair the economy and damage the environment. The effects of floods are exacerbated when cascading disasters triggered by floods disrupt critical infrastructure, exemplified by the 2015 incident in Accra, where a flood and fire catastrophe led to a gasoline station explosion, claiming 152 lives and causing substantial property damage. Floods and their impacts are expected to become more frequent and extreme in the future. In response, there is a need for research that identifies gaps, challenges and possible interventions in Flood Disaster Risk Management (FDRM) in order to increase Flood resilience in Ghana.
    A participatory and transdisciplinary approach is an important prerequisite for improving FDRM as it helps to meet the needs of the FDRM authorities in Ghana and identify ways for sustainable implementation while including local and regional knowledge of experts and citizens from the start. Additional to increasing technical knowledge on flood hazards and impact of changing climate and land use patterns it is of special importance to generate knowledge on possible cascading risks triggered by floods. Of utmost importance is as well to analyse possible flood adaptation measures on the catchment and on the household scale and to provide tools for communication and implementation. Effective governance is key to FDRM that is context specific and characterized by a high degree of complexity both in its institutional settings as well as its policy and stakeholder networks. Thus, collaborative governance is regarded as a key mechanism to improve FDRM. The PARADeS project followed an interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary and socio- technical approach and worked on and provided insights and products on these topics
