    La lingua medievale della medicina rappresenta un campo di studi di grande interesse e ancora bisognoso di contributi e approfondimenti, anzitutto per ciò che concerne la pubblicazione di moderne edizioni dei testi, sia in latino sia in volgare. Tra i molti trattati latini scritti nel corso del Duecento, la Chirurgia Magna di Bruno da Longobucco occupa una posizione di primo piano, testimoniato dal suo uso in àmbito universitario e dalla mole considerevole di testimoni che restituiscono l'opera. Il presente libro, dopo aver fornito una panoramica complessiva sulla figura di Bruno e sul ruolo della Chirurgia magna nel mondo latino, si occupa di indagarne con cura la tradizione volgare, costituita da otto testimoni: di uno di essi, il ms. MA 501 della Biblioteca Angelo Mai di Bergamo, si offre qui l'edizione e il commento linguistico. Infine, i risultati del lavoro propriamente lessicografico sono affidati alla stesura di un ampio glossario sinottico latino-volgare, che pone a confronto le scelte traduttorie di tre diversi volgarizzamenti (oltre al ms. bergamasco MA 501, si considerano a tal fine anche il ms. Rossi 147 della Biblioteca Corsiniana e il ms. 591 Med. della Biblioteca Civica di Verona, rispettivamente di area toscana e veneta), col fine di rendere manifesti i punti di contatto e quelli di divergenza tra latino e volgare nel processo di formazione di una lingua medica condivisa This volume presents a study of the vernacular tradition of Chirurgia magna, one of the most important chirurgical treatises of the Middle Ages. Alongside an edition of the 15th-century Bergamo vernacular translation, based on ms. MA 501, it provides a historical-linguistic analysis and a glossary meant to illustrate the relationship between Latin and the vernacular in the formation of a medical terminology in the 14th and 15th centuries

    A partir de un estudio de corpus centrado en la categoría de la evidencialidad, este libro explora cómo se ha ido consolidando el género del artículo científico en España entre 1799 y 1920. Ofrece un análisis de artículos de biología publicados en varias instituciones de la ciencia y reflexiona acerca del proceso de la profesionalización de la escritura científica. Trata de demostrar que la categoría de la evidencialidad, como responsable de señalar fuentes de información y conocimiento, resulta clave para la construcción del discurso científico. Diacrónicamente, esta categoría permite también trazar los cambios en la metodología científica, así como la evolución de las convenciones de la escritura científica.

    Die Forschung zum italiano popolare erlebt durch Texte von Zeitzeugen des Ersten Weltkriegs gerade eine neue Hochphase. Gleichzeitig erfährt auch die Textlinguistik in der Romanistik und Italianistik neue Impulse. Kohärenz und Kohäsion des italiano popolare wurden bisher meist nur am Rande von Analysen einzelner Texte wenig ausführlich behandelt und dann oft pauschal als typisch für gesprochene (Nähe-)Sprache eingestuft. Ziel der Untersuchung von zehn z.T. unveröffentlichten autobiographischen italienischen Nonstandardtexten ist es, diese Forschungslücke zu schließen und eine Typologie der textkonstituierenden Verfahren gerade im Hinblick auf den Grad ihrer Distanzsprachlichkeit zu erarbeiten. Im vorwiegend text- und varietätenlinguistisch ausgerichteten Ansatz werden neben textexternen (historischen) und texttypologischen vor allem konzeptionelle, grammatikalisch-strukturelle, semantische, pragmatisch-funktionale und kognitiv-informationelle Aspekte berücksichtigt. Diese integrative Perspektive offenbart, dass die autobiografie popolari auf textueller Ebene nicht den Erwartungen an typische Nonstandardtexte entsprechen. Vielmehr sind sie über individuelle Unterschiede hinweg trotz einer heterogenen Mischung von Merkmalen unterschiedlicher diasystematischer (z.T. auch nähesprachlicher) Herkunft überwiegend mit distanzsprachlichen Mitteln kohärent und kohäsiv verknüpft. Ursachen und Oberflächenrealisierungen von Störungen bei der Umsetzung mancher textkonstituierender Verfahren unterscheiden sich deutlich von denjenigen in spontaner mündlicher Rede. Vergleichbare Studien zu anderen (romanischen) Sprachen stehen noch aus This volume looks at ten private autobiographies by (in part) literate eyewitnesses from the First World War with little writing practice to examine semantic-cognitive (coherence) and grammatical-structural (cohesion) textual contexts. It asks to which extent writers who usually only communicated orally were able to coherently and cohesively create long, complex texts by utilizing the means of written language

    "This book explores the Linguistic Landscapes of ten French and Italian Mediterranean coastal cities, analysing the ways in which the public space is managed by different individuals and groups for a range of purposes. Engaging with scholarship on border studies, insularity, peripherality, cosmopolitanism, and social representations, Blackwood and Tufi test the ways in which research beyond sociolinguistics can meaningfully inform Linguistic Landscape studies. The authors privilege four specific perspectives, namely the visibility of national languages, the claiming of space for regional languages and dialects, the creation of transnational spaces for migrant languages, and the role of English in cosmopolitan place-making. Drawing on their own data from along the Mediterranean shoreline, Blackwood and Tufi provide the first in-depth and cross-referenced examination of written language use in the public space in Perpignan, Trieste, Nice, Monaco, Genoa, Palermo, Cagliari, Ajaccio, Marseilles, and Naples"..
