    Die Erforschung der antiken Fabel, einer Gattung, die die Entwicklung der modernen Literatur maßgeblich beeinflusst hat, beschränkte sich lange Zeit fast ausschließlich auf Fragen der Textüberlieferung oder der Motivgeschichte. In den letzten Jahren fand in der Klassischen Philologie jedoch zunehmend ein neuer Forschungsansatz Beachtung, der Fabeln als literarische Kunstwerke mit poetischem und kulturellem Wert in den Blick nimmt. Dies hatte ein neues Interesse an antiken Fabeln als Ausdruck gelehrter Virtuosität und als Schätze kultureller Informationen zur Folge. Im Zuge dessen entstanden auch neue Methoden, sich diesen einzigartigen Texten zu nähern. Der vorliegende Band stellt aktuelle Beispiele dieses methodischen Entwicklungsprozesses vor und spiegelt mit Beiträgen zu allgemeinen Aspekten und spezifischen Fallstudien aktuelle Trends in der antiken Fabelforschung wider. Beiträge von: Benjamin Allgaier, Ursula Gärtner, Marine Glénisson, Jeremy B. Lefkowitz, Simona Martorana, Silvia Mattiacci, Caterina Mordeglia, Sonia Pertsinidis, Christopher Poms, Federica Scognamiglio, Lukas Spielhofer, Gert-Jan van Dijk, Giovanni Zago For a long time, research into the ancient fable, a genre that substantially influenced the development of modern literature, was limited almost exclusively to questions of textual transmission or the reception of motifs. In recent years, however, classicists have expanded these approaches by looking at fables as literary works of art with an innate poetic and cultural value. This current wave of research has prompted renewed interest in ancient fables as expressions of erudite virtuosity and as treasure troves of cultural information. As a result, novel ways of approaching these unique texts have emerged. This volume collects and presents recent examples of these new directions. With contributions on both the genre at large and on specific case-studies, the volume serves as a reflection of the current trends in ancient fable scholarship.     Die Erforschung der antiken Fabel, einer Gattung, die die Entwicklung der modernen Literatur maßgeblich beeinflusst hat, beschränkte sich lange Zeit fast ausschließlich auf Fragen der Textüberlieferung oder der Motivgeschichte. In den letzten Jahren fand in der Klassischen Philologie jedoch zunehmend ein neuer Forschungsansatz Beachtung, der Fabeln als literarische Kunstwerke mit poetischem und kulturellem Wert in den Blick nimmt. Dies hatte ein neues Interesse an antiken Fabeln als Ausdruck gelehrter Virtuosität und als Schätze kultureller Informationen zur Folge. Im Zuge dessen entstanden auch neue Methoden, sich diesen einzigartigen Texten zu nähern. This current wave of research has prompted renewed interest in ancient fables as expressions of erudite virtuosity and as treasure troves of cultural information. As a result, novel ways of approaching these unique texts have emerged. This volume collects and presents recent examples of these new directions.
