    Abstract: Es werden zwei rhetorische Mittel in den Vordergrund gerückt, die im Kontext eines Nihilierungsprozesses eine entscheidende Rolle spielen. Es handelt sich dabei erstens um die selektive Überbetonung bestimmter Aspekte des zur Debatte stehenden Phänomens und zweitens um den Transfer öffentlich bereits vordefinierter abwertender Deutungsmuster auf den zu nihilierenden "Gegenstand”. Diese beiden rhetorischen Mittel werden zunächst am Beispiel der Reaktionen auf den Buddhismus bzw. die Buddhismusrezeption zur Zeit der Jahrhundertwende exemplarisch verdeutlicht. Ausgehend von diesem historisch zurückliegenden Fall ist anschließend der Frage nachzugehen, inwieweit sich vergleichbare Argumentationsstrukturen innerhalb der zeitgenössischen Diskussion um neue religiöse Bewegungen identifizieren lassen

    Abstract: "In diesem Papier wird aus historischer und begriffskritischer Perspektive die Entwicklung des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs in Deutschland zu einem Bestandteil der Daseinsvorsorge nachgezeichnet. Zum einen werden sowohl die politischen Umbrüche als auch die sozial-ökonomischen Veränderungen seit dem 19. Jahrhundert als treibende Kräfte einer flächendeckenden Kommunalisierung des öffentlichen Verkehrs in der Weimarer Zeit ausgemacht. Zum anderen lässt sich die Entwicklung der Daseinsvorsorge als allgemeiner ethischer Bezugsrahmen für die Verwaltungstätigkeit aus dem historischen Prozess der Industrialisierung und Urbanisierung erklären. Die besondere deutsche Spezifik erfährt dieser Gegenstand durch die Begrifflichkeit, die sich im Sprachduktus der Existenzialphilosophie präsentiert und in der Begründung durch Ernst Forsthoff auch Anleihen im nationalsozialistischen Vokabular nimmt.     Abstract: During the secular change of Prussia from an agrarian state with uprising industries towards an industrial state with a strong and stable agrarian sector, transnational and internal mobility became mass phenomena in the German Northeast before World War I. Regional differences aside, the most important components of this mobility were overseas emigration and remigration, continental immigration, primarily from middle-east and south-east Europe, as well as several forms of internal migration. Thereby we have to distinguish between permanent and temporary migrations, between migrations within the same economic sector (intra-sectoral migrations, e.g. within the agrarian sector), and migrations across sectors (inter-sectoral migrations, e.g. from the agrarian towards the industrial sector). Driven by partly comparable and partly different motivations, this mobility shaped more or less long-lasting migration traditions within a highly complex migration system

    Abstract: Science and technology are composed of several regimes of production, each having its own research axis and mode of diffusion - the disciplinary regime, transitory regime, utilitarian regime, and transverse regime. This article discusses research-technology, an example of the transverse regime of cognitive and artefact production. Research-technologists stand between science and engineering, between academia and enterprise. They design and build a special category of instrumentation (open-ended, multi-purpose generic instrumentation) and they operate out of an interstitial arena that lies between the usual poles of interest and organization - university, firms, the state, military etc. By virtue of their interstitial position and development of generic multi-audience devices, research-technologists exhibit a highly dynamic division of socio-cognitive labor.
