    Die überwiegend grossformatigen Schwarz-Weiss-Fotos dieses Bildbandes stammen aus dem Fundus des amerikanischen Magnum-Fotografen Burt Glinn (1925-2008). Sie dokumentieren anschaulich das revolutionäre Geschehen auf Kuba kurz nach der Flucht des Diktators Fulgenicio Batista. Rezension: In der Reihe Midas-Collection ist jetzt dieser hochwertige Bildband mit überwiegend grossformatigen Schwarz-Weiss-Fotos aus dem Fundus des amerikanischen Magnum-Fotografen Burt Glinn (1925-2008) erschienen. Als dieser auf einer Silvesterparty 1958 von der Flucht von Kubas Diktator Batista erfuhr, flog er sofort nach Havanna und schoss die ersten Aufnahmen vom revolutionären Geschehen vor Ort. Neben bewaffneten Aufständischen, die nach Anhängern des Diktators suchen und ihr Hauptquartier im Hilton-Hotel aufschlugen, sieht man Bilder von Menschen, die auf Castros Ankunft in Santa Clara warten. Castro am Rednerpult, beim Bad in der Menge, aber auch spontan während eines Tankstopps Limonade trinkend. Glinns Fotos fangen sehr lebendig die damalige Stimmung der revolutionären Wende auf Kuba ein. Mit 2 einleitenden Beiträgen und erläuternden Kurztexten. Eine kleine Auswahl seiner Fotos aus diesem Band findet man auch in "Magnum Revolution" (2012). Ein interessantes Zeitdokument für zeit- und fotohistorisch Interessierte. (3)
