    Das Scheitern des Bicesse-Friedensprozesses 1992/93 in Angola stellt einen der schwerwiegendsten Fälle von Spoiling dar. Die Sabotage des Friedensabkommens wird auf Basis der These, dass die Rebellengruppe UNITA diesen Prozess strategisch störte, analysiert. In diesem Kontext erfolgt eine systematische Weiterentwicklung bestehender Spoilerkonzepte – insbesondere, um mögliche Spoilerstrategien zu identifizieren. Somit zielt das Buch auch darauf ab, einen Beitrag zur Konsolidierung des derzeitigen Forschungsstandes in diesem Teilbereich der Friedens- und Konfliktforschung zu leisten.
