    Der Begriff der Authentizität erfährt seit einiger Zeit eine Renaissance. Die Sehnsucht nach unmittelbaren und einzigartigen Erfahrungen wird umso stärker, je mehr die wahrhaftige Repräsentation des Wirklichen durch elektronische Medien bezweifelt wird. Dabei ist die Suche nach Authentizität häufig an Phänomene der Wiederholung (Aneignungen, Kopien, Fakes etc.) gekoppelt. Der interdisziplinäre Band nähert sich diesem Paradox, wie es sich in unterschiedlicher Weise in den Künsten, in (Re-)Inszenierungen von Geschichte und künstlerischen Reenactments, in Alltagskultur, Politik und Religion zeigt.
