    The New York Convention is universally known as one of the most important instruments on international commercial arbitration. It owes much of its success to being an international treaty which sets forth uniform rules. The Convention’s uniform enforcement regime not only lowers the parties’ transaction costs of identifying under which circumstances an award will be recognized and enforced across jurisdictions.
