    Der Büchnerpreisträger des Jahres 2010 Reinhard Jirgl, geboren 1953 in Ostberlin, gilt als ein wichtiger ästhetischer Grenzgänger der deutschen Gegenwartsliteratur. In seinem umfangreichen Romanwerk spielt die stoische Gedankenübung der »praemeditatio malorum« eine wichtige Rolle. Jedoch ist das Ausmalen der Zukunft in den finstersten Farben nicht Ausdruck einer pessimistischen Weltsicht – vielmehr soll sich der Leser die schlimmstmöglichen Übel zur »Neutralisierung des Schreckens« vor Augen halten: »Daher suche ich mit meiner Sprache und meiner Text-Machart in der heutigen Zeit nach einer Entsprechung für diese stoische Übung, mithin nach einer Ausdrucksmöglichkeit, das in den sozialen und mentalen Wirklichkeiten bestehende Unrecht zu benennen, zuzuspitzen, um es zu verneinen!« In den Beiträgen des Heftes werden zentrale Kategorien der literarischen Arbeitsweise Jirgls untersucht. In Einzelanalysen geht es unter anderem um die Romane »Die atlantische Mauer« und »Die Stille«, um das Verhältnis zwischen Lektor und Schriftsteller sowie um die essayistischen Arbeiten Jirgls. Mitarbeiter sind Helmut Böttiger, Thomas Combrink, Karen Dannemann, Wolfgang Matz, Stephan Pabst, Dieter Stolz und Arne De Winde.     Der Büchnerpreisträger des Jahres 2010 Reinhard Jirgl, geboren 1953 in Ostberlin, gilt als ein wichtiger ästhetischer Grenzgänger der deutschen Gegenwartsliteratur. In seinem umfangreichen Romanwerk spielt die stoische Gedankenübung der »praemeditatio malorum« eine wichtige Rolle. Jedoch ist das Ausmalen der Zukunft in den finstersten Farben nicht Ausdruck einer pessimistischen Weltsicht – vielmehr soll sich der Leser die schlimmstmöglichen Übel zur »Neutralisierung des Schreckens« vor Augen halten: »Daher suche ich mit meiner Sprache und meiner Text-Machart in der heutigen Zeit nach einer Entsprechung für diese stoische Übung, mithin nach einer Ausdrucksmöglichkeit, das in den sozialen und mentalen Wirklichkeiten bestehende Unrecht zu benennen, zuzuspitzen, um es zu verneinen!« In den Beiträgen des Heftes werden zentrale Kategorien der literarischen Arbeitsweise Jirgls untersucht. In Einzelanalysen geht es unter anderem um die Romane »Die atlantische Mauer« und »Die Stille«, um das Verhältnis zwischen Lektor und Schriftsteller sowie um die essayistischen Arbeiten Jirgls. Mitarbeiter sind Helmut Böttiger, Thomas Combrink, Karen Dannemann, Wolfgang Matz, Stephan Pabst, Dieter Stolz und Arne De Winde.
