    "Die Kunst der Gabe" kombiniert aktuelle Theaterformate mit der interdisziplinären Diskussion um Theorien der Gabe und des Gabentauschs. Dabei steht die paradoxe Spannung zwischen Freiheit und sozialer Verpflichtung in Gaben- wie Theaterpraxis im Zentrum. Werden Theateraufführungen als immaterielle Gaben an die Zuschauer und Mitwirkenden verstanden, entfällt die Frontstellung von performativem und Schauspieltheater: Theater ist beides - soziale Praxis und ästhetische Autonomie, Spiel und Realität.Die deutsch- und teilweise englischsprachigen Beiträge u.a. von Frank Adloff, Marcel Hénaff, Ortrud Gutjahr, Dirk Pilz, Jens Roselt und Ilana F. Silber geben Einblick in internationale Entwicklungen des Gabe-Diskurses aus Sozialwissenschaft, Philosophie und Anthropologie und präsentieren aktuelle kunst- und theaterwissenschaftliche Positionen.
