Die gegenwärtige Mythenrenaissance ist geprägt durch Formenvielfalt. Die Mythen vernetzen sich sowohl in der Kunst als auch im Alltag, in Politik, Geschichte und in den Wissenschaften. Die Beiträge des Bandes reagieren auf diesen Wandel. Sie öffnen sich Neufigurationen des Mythos in unterschiedlichen Repräsentationsformen und stellen eine Vielzahl mythentheoretischer Ansätze zur Disposition The fascination with myth continues. Out of their divergent needs for stabilization of systems of order on the one hand and new meaningfulness on the other hand, globalization and late capitalism have challenged innovative disciplinary viewpoints and perspectives on myth. The contemporary Renaissance of myth is characterized by a variety of forms. Myths are interconnected with the arts as well as everyday life, politics, history, and the sciences. The contributions to this volume respond to these changes, which open up to new configurations of myth in different forms of representation and subject a variety of mytho-theoretical rudiments to negotiation

Die gegenwärtige Mythenrenaissance ist geprägt durch Formenvielfalt. Die Mythen vernetzen sich sowohl in der Kunst als auch im Alltag, in Politik, Geschichte und in den Wissenschaften. Globalisierung und Spätkapitalismus haben aus dem divergierenden Bedürfnis nach Stabilisierung von Ordnungssystemen einerseits und neuer Sinnstiftung andererseits innovative disziplinäre Sichtweisen und Perspektiven auf den Mythos herausgefordert. Die gegenwärtige Mythenrenaissance ist geprägt durch Formenvielfalt. Die Mythen vernetzen sich sowohl in der Kunst als auch im Alltag, in Politik, Geschichte und in den Wissenschaften. Die Beiträge des Bandes reagieren auf diesen Wandel. Sie öffnen sich Neufigurationen des Mythos in unterschiedlichen Repräsentationsformen und stellen eine Vielzahl mythentheoretischer Ansätze zur Disposition. The fascination with myth continues. Out of their divergent needs for stabilization of systems of order on the one hand and new meaningfulness on the other hand, globalization and late capitalism have challenged innovative disciplinary viewpoints and perspectives on myth. The contemporary Renaissance of myth is characterized by a variety of forms. Myths are interconnected with the arts as well as everyday life, politics, history, and the sciences. The contributions to this volume respond to these changes, which open up to new configurations of myth in different forms of representation and subject a variety of mytho-theoretical rudiments to negotiation.
