    László Moholy-Nagy (1895–1946) erkannte und aktivierte erstmals das pädagogische Potenzial des Fotogramms. Vorgelegt wird die erste Untersuchung seiner Fotogramm-Pädagogik und ihrer kunsthistorischen Bedeutung. Als Ergebnis seiner Bemühungen, Malerei als eine Kunst zu verstehen, die nicht aus Pigmenten, sondern aus Licht besteht, entwickelte Moholy-Nagy das Fotogramm zu einer neuen Hauptform der Avantgarde-Praxis. Von hier entfaltete er den pädagogischen Gehalt des Mediums, das ganz ohne Kamera auskommt und der Schlüssel zur Fotografie ist. Beim Übergang der optischen Künste zu den optischen Medien nimmt das Fotogramm eine Sonderstellung ein: Es kontrastiert als rein indexikalisches Medium alle kamerabasierte Fotografie, die einen mimetischen Effekt forciert und den Übergang in die Sprache vollzieht. László Moholy-Nagy (1895-1946) was the first to recognize and activate the educational potential of the photogram. This is the first study of his photogram pedagogy and its significance in art history. As a result of his efforts to understand painting as an art that consists not of pigments but of light, Moholy-Nagy developed the photogram into a new main form of avantgarde practice.
