    Galt die barocke Reformpoetik lange als umfassendes Regulierungssystem, zeigen sich im Einzelnen immer wieder eklatante Normierungslücken. Diese wurden in vielen Breichen durch dichtungstheoretische Paratexte aufgefüllt, deren hohen Geltungsgrad im dichtungstheoretischen Diskurs des 17. Jahrhunderts diese Untersuchung systematisch nachweist. Gleichwohl gelingt es der Vorredenpoetik nicht, die augenfälligen Defizite im System der praecepta auch nur annähernd zu kompensieren. Dieser Befund wirft letztlich die Frage nach dem prinzipiellen Stellenwert poetologischer Normen für die barocke Dichtungspraxis auf. Wenn sie vielfach nur erstaunlich offen gehaltene Anweisungen vermittelt, so gewährt die Poetik beträchtliche künstlerische Entfaltungsmöglichkeiten, deren Bedeutung für die barocke Dichtungsauffassung bislang unterschätzt wurde. Die Studie bietet eine umfassende Analyse der gattungstheoretischen Normvorgaben, welche in poetologischen Lehrbüchern und Vorreden formuliert wurden. Die materialreiche Inventarisierung macht den Band zugleich als gattungsgeschichtliches Kompendium nutzbar

This absence of binding norms affords an artistic latitude, the significance of which has hitherto been underestimated. The study provides a systematic analysis of the theoretical genre standards laid down in poetological manuals and prefaces. The wealth of material presented also makes the volume useful as a compendium of genre history.

    Galt die barocke Reformpoetik lange als umfassendes Regulierungssystem, zeigen sich im Einzelnen immer wieder eklatante Normierungslücken. Diese wurden in vielen Breichen durch dichtungstheoretische Paratexte aufgefüllt, deren hohen Geltungsgrad im dichtungstheoretischen Diskurs des 17. Jahrhunderts diese Untersuchung systematisch nachweist. Gleichwohl gelingt es der Vorredenpoetik nicht, die augenfälligen Defizite im System der praecepta auch nur annähernd zu kompensieren. Dieser Befund wirft letztlich die Frage nach dem prinzipiellen Stellenwert poetologischer Normen für die barocke Dichtungspraxis auf. Wenn sie vielfach nur erstaunlich offen gehaltene Anweisungen vermittelt, so gewährt die Poetik beträchtliche künstlerische Entfaltungsmöglichkeiten, deren Bedeutung für die barocke Dichtungsauffassung bislang unterschätzt wurde. Die Studie bietet eine umfassende Analyse der gattungstheoretischen Normvorgaben, welche in poetologischen Lehrbüchern und Vorreden formuliert wurden. Die materialreiche Inventarisierung macht den Band zugleich als gattungsgeschichtliches Kompendium nutzbar
