    Main description: Der vorliegende Band versammelt die Referate einer gleichnamigen interdisziplinären Tagung. Historiker, Kunsthistoriker, Ethnologen, Literaturwissenschaftler und Soziologen aus Tschechien und Sachsen diskutierten hier gemeinsam über die Problematik der historischen Entwicklung des sächsisch-böhmischen Grenzraums. Im Vordergrund standen die Fragen nach einer "grenzüberschreitenden" Geschichtsregion, angesprochen wurde die Migration und Mobilität über die Grenze; man setzte sich mit der Bedeutung und Wahrnehmung der Grenze und ihrer Rolle im Alltag auseinander. Davon ausgehend ist kaum überraschend, dass sich ein wesentlicher Teil der Vorträge sowie der Aufsätze in diesem Band mit der Frühneuzeit beschäftigt, doch erstreckt sich hier die Zeitspanne vom späten Mittelalter bis in die Gegenwart.
