    Biographical note: Dr. Wolfgang Fritzen ist Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Katholisch-Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Mainz. Long description: Fritzen liest und interpretiert das Markusevangelium konsequent als Erzählung, die ihren Lesern ein wichtiges Kommunikationsangebot machen will. Damit wird ein neuer Zugang zum Evangelium möglich. Die zentrale Frage, auf die der gesamte Markus-Text eine Antwort sein will, ist Jesu Ruf am Kreuz: "Mein Gott, mein Gott, warum hast du mich verlassen?" -- Das Markusevangelium antwortet auf diese Herausforderung des Glaubens mit der Rede vom verborgenen Gott und führt die Leser auf einen Weg vertiefter Wahrnehmung. Fritzens Darstellung dieses Weges gipfelt in einer theologischen Auslegung der Kreuzigungserzählung. Abschließend fragt er, wie heutige Leser das Kommunikationsangebot dieses alten Textes aufgreifen können - wobei sich dessen theologische Aktualität erweist.
