    Main description: Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Inszenierungen von Eifersucht in der französischen Erzählliteratur der zweiten Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts. Untersucht wird, welchen Stellenwert Eifersucht in den Texten einnimmt und welche Funktionen ihr zukommen, wie sie entworfen, erzählerisch vermittelt bzw. überhaupt erst erzeugt wird. Dabei geht es auch um die Fragen, ob sich mittels der Eifersuchtsgestaltung Subjektivität in den Texten konstituiert, um welche Formen von Subjektivität es sich hierbei handelt und mit welchen literarischen Verfahren sie modelliert wird

    Main description: The book examines enactments of jealousy in French narrative literature from the latter half of the 17th century. It studies the relative status of the subject in the texts selected and the functions performed by engagement with it, the approach to the phenomenon, narrative strategies employed, and the way in which, in some cases, jealousy is the actual product of the writing. Other significant issues are the extent to which subjectivity is constituted via engagement with jealousy, the forms of subjectivity involved, and the literary techniques used to model it
