    Die Kultur der europäischen Romantik ruft in den Wissenschaften ein großes Interesse hervor. Die Romantik-Forschung auf ihrem Weg der Internationalisierung steht vor einer doppelten Aufgabe. Auf der einen Seite ist zu differenzieren im Hinblick auf die verschiedenen Nationalkulturen, ihre zeitlichen Entfaltungen wie auf die unterschiedlichen Domänen romantischer Aktivität. Hinzu kommt, dass die Romantik-Begriffe der an der Diskussion beteiligten Disziplinen nicht einfach aufeinander abbildbar sind. Missverständnisse scheinen vorprogrammiert, wenn nicht disziplinär angelegte Forschungsgeschichten rekonstruiert und voneinander abgehoben werden. Auf der anderen Seite droht die Forschung in verschiedene Fächerkulturen und hoch differenzierte Forschungsstände auseinanderzufallen. Deshalb erscheint es geraten, interdisziplinäre Verbindungslinien zu ziehen und übergreifende Zusammenhänge in dem dichten Geflecht der europäischen Diskurse aufzuzeigen.Der Band versammelt Beiträge zur dänischen, deutschsprachigen, englischen, französischen, norwegischen und schwedischen Romantik aus einem breiten Cluster von Disziplinen - Geschichte, Kunstgeschichte, Philosophie, Bild-, Literatur- und Musikwissenschaft
