    Die hier vorliegenden 13 Beiträge - u.a. aus Musikwissenschaft, Psychologie, Psychotherapie, Computerspieledesign, Historiographie und Theologie - untersuchen die Möglichkeit der Anwendung narratologischer Verfahren auf nicht-literarische symbolische Repräsentationen. Die in diesem Band versammelten Beiträge gehen auf das Zweite Internationale Kolloquium der Forschergruppe Narratologie (2003) an der Universität Hamburg zurück. Leitend war die Frage, welchen Beitrag die entwickelten narratologischen Methodologien für die Analyse und Interpretation solcher symbolischer Repräsentationen zu leisten vermögen, die in anderen als dem traditionell textgebundenen literarischen Medium erscheinen. Die Beiträge erweisen nicht nur die Fruchtbarkeit dieses Ansatzes, sie eröffnen zudem weit reichende Perspektiven für eine medienunanbhängige Bestimmung des Narrativen.
