    Was testen Tests? Mehr und anderes, als sie testen sollen, wie dieses Buch am Beispiel des Matheleistungstests von PISA belegt. Der Autor stellt mit der Objektiven Hermeneutik eine Methode vor, die uns tiefgründig erfassen lässt, was wir testen, wenn wir testen. Wenn standardisierte Leistungstests wie PISA Schule stärker bestimmen, dann sind ihre gesellschaftlichen Implikationen auszubuchstabieren: Was tun wir mit Schule und Schülern, wenn wir standardisiert testen? Was erfahren wir über Schule und über Schüler, die wir testen? Wie gestaltet Gesellschaft Tests und umgekehrt? Und: Was testen Tests? Dieses Buch diskutiert diese Fragen. Mit der Objektiven Hermeneutik stellt es eine Methode vor, die es erlaubt, allgemeine Probleme von Leistungstests herunterzubrechen in konkrete Untersuchungen einzelner Tests. Der Mathematikleistungstest von PISA wird untersucht, und es zeigt sich Überraschendes: Dieser Test ist als Instrument für das Testen von Mathematikleistung ungeeignet. Ein operationalisiertes Testkonstrukt liegt nicht vor - es bleibt unklar, was gemessen werden soll. Es zeigen sich Messunschärfen, Probleme des Ratens und des Mitmessens von Testfähigkeit. Das theoretischen Modell, mit dem die Messresultate gedeutet werden, erweist sich als nicht nachvollziehbar. Die als theoretische Basis des Test angegebenen Theorien werden nicht verwendet.
