ger: Der urbane Raum Barcelona kann in seinen Darstellungsmodi im zeitgenössischen Roman als Spielwiese für AutorInnen betrachtet werden. Die vorliegende Arbeit versucht, der literarischen Darstellung der katalanischen Hauptstadt in "La sombra del viento" und "El prisionero del cielo" von Carlos Ruiz Zafón und in "Habitaciones cerradas" und "El aire que respiras" von Care Santos nachzugehen. Die Analyse fokussiert die Darstellung der Stadt, die von der strukturellen und sprachlichen Gestalt der Romane ebenso abhängt wie von der Perspektivierung durch Figuren. Darüber hinaus wird die Bedeutung des Chronotopos, das bedeutet jene der Synthese von Raum und Zeit, wie Michail Bachtin sie theoretisch beschrieben hat, auf mikro- und makrostruktureller Ebene für die einzelnen Romane analysiert. Die Mikro-Chronotopoi Weg, Begegnung und Schwelle können als sujetbildend betrachtet werden und beeinflussen die Stadtdarstellung. Abschließend widmet sich die Analyse der Konstitution und Verräumlichung den Erinnerung(en), die romanintern mit der literarisch unterschiedlich konstruierten Stadt in Verbindung stehen. Diesbezüglich wird auf die Kategorien des kulturellen Gedächtnisses, wie Jan und Aleida Assmann es beschrieben haben, eingegangen.Der Vergleich zweier AutorInnen ermöglicht exemplarisch aufzuzeigen, wie vielfältig die Möglichkeiten der Darstellung des urbanen Raumes sind. Bei der Herausarbeitung von Parallelen und Unterschieden zeigt sich, dass die Systeme Stadt, Chronotopos und Roman ähnlich veranlagt sind, da alle drei sehr komplex, veränderbar und von ihrer räumlichen und zeitlichen Situierung beeinträchtigt sind. Außerdem vermag der zeitgenössische Roman, Facetten der Stadt Barcelona im Puzzlespiel-Verfahren darzustellen und zunehmend zu komplettieren. Ein offenes Ende ermöglicht Fortsetzungen und weitere literarische Stadtkonstruktionen. eng: The modes of presentation of the urban space Barcelona in the contemporary novel can be considered a playground for authors. This study provides an analysis of the modes of presentation of the Catalan capital in "La sombra del viento" and "El prisionero del cielo" by Carlos Ruiz Zafón and in "Habitaciones cerradas" and "El aire que respiras" by Care Santos. The analysis focuses on the view modes of the city, which depend on the structural and linguistic presentation in the novels as well as on the perspective through the characters. Furthermore, this study examines the significance of the chronotope, based on a macro- and microstructural view, according to Michail Bachtin’s theoretical description. The different micro-chronotopes, path, meeting, and barrier are forming the subject and influence the images of the city. Finally, the analysis is devoted to the constitution of how memories are made spatial. This spatialization depends on the literary construction of the city. As Jan and Aleida Assmann described it, the contemporary novels are analysed based on the categories of the cultural memory.Comparing both authors, Ruiz Zafón and Santos, enables us to show that there are numerous possibilities to constitute the urban space. When looking at parallels and differences one can observe that all three systems – the city, the chronotope, and the novel – are related. All of them are complex, changeable and dependent on the spatial and temporal setting. Moreover, the contemporary novel can constitute and complete different facets of the city by the mode of jigsaw puzzles. Open endings allow continuations and additional literary constructs of Barcelona.
