    Fallstudie über die Themen und Wertvorstellungen in der Trivialliteratur Nigerias. Die ausgewerteten Hefte stammen aus den fünfziger und sechziger Jahren. Sie reflektieren den Prozeß der Urbanisierung und Modernisierung, den afrikanischen Unabhängigkeitskampf und die Auflösung der traditionellen Großfamilie. Eine unkritische Übernahme westlicher Vorstellungen über technischen Fortschritt und die Bedeutung der Ware-Geld-Beziehungen und den Wert von Konsumgütern überwiegt. Widersprüchlich ist die Haltung zu "modernen" und "traditionellen" Moralvorstellungen. In der Gesamtwertung ist die Trivialliteratur zwar oberflächlich, aber doch repräsentativer für die Stimmung der Bevölkerung als die intellektuell orientierte Literatur. (DÜI-Wsl)
