    Wann dolmetschen wir? Das ist die Frage, die diesem wichtigen neuen Werk von Johann Michel zugrunde liegt. Der Mensch verbringt seine Zeit nicht mit Dolmetschen im Alltag. Wir interpretieren, wenn wir mit einem verschwommenen, verwirrten, problematischen Sinn konfrontiert werden. Das ist die Originalität der Perspektive des Autors, die das anthropologische Verbot beseitigt, das die Hermeneutik seit Heidegger behindert hat. Michel schlägt eine Anthropologie des homo interpretans als erstes und grundlegendes Prinzip der fundamentalen Ontologie (in Bezug auf die Bedeutung des Seins) sowie der Erkenntnistheorie (in Bezug auf die Interpretation in den Geisteswissenschaften) vor. Er argumentiert, dass die Wurzel der Hermeneutik in gewöhnlichen Interpretationstechniken (Erklärung, Klärung, Enthüllung) liegt und nicht als eine Reihe erlernter Technologien, die auf bestimmte Bereiche (Texte, Symbole, Handlungen) angewendet werden When do we interpret? That is the question at the heart of this important new work by Johann Michel. The human being does not spend his time interpreting in everyday life. We interpret when we are confronted with a blurred, confused, problematic sense. Such is the originality of the author's perspective which removes the anthropological interdict that has hampered hermeneutics since Heidegger. Michel proposes an anthropology of homo interpretans as the first and founding principle of fundamental ontology (relating to the meaning of being) as well as of the theory of knowledge (relating to interpretation in the human sciences). He argues that the root of hermeneutics lies in ordinary interpretative techniques (explication, clarification, unveiling), rather than as a set of learned technologies applied to specific fields (texts, symbols, actions)

    Wann dolmetschen wir? Das ist die Frage, die diesem wichtigen neuen Werk von Johann Michel zugrunde liegt. Der Mensch verbringt seine Zeit nicht mit Dolmetschen im Alltag. Wir interpretieren, wenn wir mit einem verschwommenen, verwirrten, problematischen Sinn konfrontiert werden. Das ist die Originalität der Perspektive des Autors, die das anthropologische Verbot beseitigt, das die Hermeneutik seit Heidegger behindert hat. Michel schlägt eine Anthropologie des homo interpretans als erstes und grundlegendes Prinzip der fundamentalen Ontologie (in Bezug auf die Bedeutung des Seins) sowie der Erkenntnistheorie (in Bezug auf die Interpretation in den Geisteswissenschaften) vor. Er argumentiert, dass die Wurzel der Hermeneutik in gewöhnlichen Interpretationstechniken (Erklärung, Klärung, Enthüllung) liegt und nicht als eine Reihe erlernter Technologien, die auf bestimmte Bereiche (Texte, Symbole, Handlungen) angewendet werden. When do we interpret? That is the question at the heart of this important new work by Johann Michel. The human being does not spend his time interpreting in everyday life. We interpret when we are confronted with a blurred, confused, problematic sense. Such is the originality of the author's perspective which removes the anthropological interdict that has hampered hermeneutics since Heidegger. Michel proposes an anthropology of homo interpretans as the first and founding principle of fundamental ontology (relating to the meaning of being) as well as of the theory of knowledge (relating to interpretation in the human sciences). He argues that the root of hermeneutics lies in ordinary interpretative techniques (explication, clarification, unveiling), rather than as a set of learned technologies applied to specific fields (texts, symbols, actions).
