eng: The topic of slavery is as relevant today as it was back in the 18th century. The different versions of the Inkle and Yarico story did have a profound impact on the public perception of the British slave trade. In the first part of the thesis, the historical aspects as well as the theoretical concepts will be presented for the analysis of the three different versions of Inkle and Yarico: Richard Steele, Mrs Weddell, and George Colman the Younger’s texts. The second part then features a didactic guide to incorporate the topic of modern slavery into English as a Foreign Language classroom.
