    Wie kann die Verhandlungsmacht der Beschäftigten in Bangladeschs Bekleidungsindustrie gestärkt werden? Inwiefern ist relevant, dass über 80 Prozent von ihnen Frauen sind? Elisabeth Fink analysiert die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Mobilisierungsstrategie Transnational Social Movement Unionism im Kontext der Bekleidungsindustrie Bangladeschs erstmals unter Berücksichtigung der Beschäftigtenstruktur dieses Sektors. Mithilfe postkolonial-feministischer Theorien weist sie sowohl auf Fallstricke im Rahmen des gegenwärtigen transnationalen Aktivismus hin als auch auf das Potenzial geschlechtertheoretisch sensibler Studien für die Mobilisierung und die Kooperation.

    This volume presents the critical perspectives of feminists, critical race theorists, and queer and postcolonial theorists who question the adoption of European norms in the postcolonial world and whether such norms are enabling for disenfranchised communities or if they simply reinforce relations of domination and exploitation. It examines how postcolonial interventions alter the study of politics and society both in the postcolony and in Euro-America, as well as of the power relations between them. Challenging conventional understandings of international politics, this volume pushes the boundaries of the social sciences by engaging with alternative critical approaches and innovatively and provocatively addressing previously disregarded aspects of international politics. The fourteen contributions in this volume focus on the silencing and exclusion of vulnerable groups from claims of freedom, equality and rights, while highlighting postcolonial-queer-feminist struggles for transnational justice, radical democracy and decolonization, drawing on in-depth empirically-informed analyses of processes and struggles in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America. They address political and social topics including global governance and development politics; neo-colonialism, international aid and empire; resistance, decolonization and the Arab Spring; civil society and social movement struggles; international law, democratization and subalternity; body politics and green imperialism. By drawing on other disciplines in the social sciences and humanities, this book both enriches and expands the discipline of political science and international relations.     ger: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Verhältnis von Körper und Sprache, von leiblicher Erfahrung und Diskurs. Im ersten, umfassenderen Teil der Arbeit werden verschiedene theoretische Ansätze vorgestellt der Körper wird aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln betrachtet, wobei ein Schwerpunkt auf die Körpergeschichte und auf der Bedeutung des Körpers für die Geschlechterstudien gelegt wird. Theoretisch aufgearbeitet werden auch Fragen nach der Wahrnehmung des Körpers und seinem Verhältnis zu gesellschaftlichen Diskursen sowie nach körperlichen Aspekten von Identität und deren politische Relevanz. Ansätze der (historischen) Diskursanalyse und der (Auto-)Biographieforschung werden schließlich angewendet, um autobiographische Texte der Autorin und politischen Aktivistin Audre Lorde zu analysieren und vor dem vorgestellten theoretischen Hintergrund zu kontextualisieren. Die Texte von Lorde erzählen von ihrer Brustkrebserkrankung und ihren Erfahrungen als schwarze, lesbische Frau in den USA der 1970/80er Jahre. Die Komplexität des Zusammenspiels von Körper-Ich und gesellschaftspolitischen Diskursen kann anhand des Dialogs zwischen den vorgestellten Theorien und der Analyse des Textmaterials beleuchtet werden. eng: This master thesis addresses the relation between body and text, experience and discourse. In the first part of the thesis, different theoretical approaches will be introduced the body will be explored from different perspectives with a focus on the history of the body and the importance of the body in gender studies. The relation between body perception and societal discourses, as well as bodily aspects and their relevance in (political) identity concepts will also be questioned theoretically. After all, the concepts of (historical) discourse analysis and (auto-)biographical studies provide the basis for analyzing autobiographical texts of the author and political activist Audre Lorde against the theoretical backdrop. In her autobiographical writings Lorde refers to her experience of suffering from breast cancer and her life as black, lesbian woman in the U.S. of 1970/80ies. By bringing together the presented theoretical approaches and the analysis of Lordes writings, this paper puts a light on the complex interaction of the body-self and societal discourses.
