Public Lecture: The Power of Silence & The Silence of Power

The University of Münster’s Summer School “Tacet ad Libitum!” organizational committee invites you to the public keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Nikita Dhawan (Chair in Political Theory and History of Ideas at TU Dresden), "The Power of Silence & The Silence of Power" .

Together with the next day's symposium, Dhawan's lecture will be inaugurating the event for the Summer School 2022 "Towards a Politics and Poetics of Silence", which will take place in Münster during July 2022. This event interrogates the (ir)rationales and mechanics of silence from poietical, political, and philosophical perspectives, giving special attention to the distinctions between silence (silere) and reticence (tacere) and their (inter)relationship with multidisciplinary concepts of crisis and catastrophe.
