    International audience ; A better understanding of the link between consumption and life satisfaction has become a major stake for economists, who seek to find ways to improve the subjective well-being of people. But research results on the link between product and service consumption and life satisfaction are contradictory and depend on the kind of product, the country and time. The aim of this paper is to show the benefit of taking several moderators of the relationship between product satisfaction and life satisfaction into account: "product centrality", which can be defined as the importance and the impact of the product consumption on everyday life, "self congruity" and "lifestyle congruity". The results of three studies, one qualitative and two quantitative, show the effect of these three variables. Moreover, the influence of time on this relationship is studied. ; Mieux comprendre le lien entre la consommation et la satisfaction dans la vie est devenu un enjeu pour les économistes du bonheur qui tentent de trouver des leviers pour améliorer le bien-être subjectif des populations. Or, les travaux portant sur l'influence de la consommation de produits ou de services sur la satisfaction dans la vie divergent selon le produit, le pays et le temps. L'objectif de cet article est de montrer l'intérêt d'intégrer plusieurs modérateurs de la relation entre la satisfaction à l'égard du produit et la satisfaction dans la vie : la « centralité du produit », qui peut être définie comme l'importance et l'impact de la consommation d'un produit ou service dans la vie quotidienne, la « congruence entre le produit et le soi » et la « congruence entre le produit et le style de vie ». Trois études, l'une qualitative, les deux autres quantitatives, ont permis de montrer l'influence de ces variables. Par ailleurs, l'effet de la dimension temporelle sur la relation est étudié.

    We study properties of collective action problems bounded by minimal contributions as well as endowment and variable contributions are neighbourhood dependent. We relate nearness to non-interior agents and its implication for interior contribution. Here, we see the aspects of node distance to non-interior agents which have implications for interior agents. Endowments may be redistributed among agents. We highlight strict conditions for budget-balanced transfers for which neighbourhood contributions and individual residual consumption are invariant. Agents may or may not be concerned about neighbourhood outcomes. We find that welfare is self-correcting and neither cases are relevant to the overall welfare impact of neutral transfers.

    The centrality of the United States in the global financial system is taken for granted, but its response to recent political and epidemiological events has suggested that China now holds a comparable position. Using minute-by-minute data from 2012 to 2020 on the financial performance of twelve country-specific exchange-traded funds, we construct daily snapshots of the global financial network and analyze them for the centrality and connectedness of each country in our sample. We find evidence that the U.S. was central to the global financial system into 2018, but that the U.S.-China trade war of 2018-2019 diminished its centrality, and the Covid-19 outbreak of 2019-2020 increased the centrality of China. These indicators may be the first signals that the global financial system is moving from a unipolar to a bipolar world.

    Input-Output tables have become the workhorse data structure when considering global supply chains since, by definition, they measure how production in one countrysector is linked to that in another via trade in intermediate inputs. What traditional input-output tables miss, however, is the role of knowledge. In this paper, we use the well-known World Input-Output Database and construct a corresponding "Knowledge" input-output dataset based on patenting information from PATSTAT. Thus, for 44 countries over 20 sectors for 15 years, we are able to compare linkages via intermediate goods to those created by patent citations. We illustrate that these two networks share strong similarities in terms of the size of activity and linkages yet important differences - most notably the interaction between Asia and the rest of the world - are found. We then conclude by illustrating the link between patents and a measure of intangible capital that can be constructed from the World Input-Output Database, a relation that is a function of tax haven status. This then suggests that there is a likely direct connection between the data found in the production data and those derived from the patent data.
