    Das DFG-Projekt „Future Publications in den Humanities“ (Fu-PusH) untersuchte die Potenziale des digitalen geisteswissenschaftlichen Publizierens aus bibliotheks- und informationswissenschaftlicher Perspektive und mit dem Fokus auf sogenannte Enhanced Publications. Aus einer Bedarfsanalyse basierend auf Experteninterviews und Diskursanalysen lässt sich die grundsätzliche Erkenntnis festhalten, dass eine konsequente Digitalisierung des geisteswissenschaftlichen Publizierens bisher ausbleibt und sich entsprechende Entwicklungen innerhalb der Disziplinen asynchron entwickeln. Davon ausgehend formulierte das Projekt konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen jeweils für Vertreter der Geisteswissenschaften, der Informationsinfrastrukturen, der Wissenschaftspolitik und Förderinstitutionen sowie der Verlage. Abstract: The DFG-project „Future Publications in the Humanities“ (Fu-PusH) investigated the potentials for digital publishing in the humanities with a slant to the area of Enhanced Publishing from a library and information science perspective. A requirements analysis based on expert interviews and discourse analyses revealed very restrained digitization efforts for publishing within the humanities and asynchronous developments. Derived from these results, the project poses recommendations for representatives of the humanities, institutions of information infrastructure, science policy and funding institutions as well as publishing houses.

From Digital to Analog delves into the origins of digitization and its effects on contemporary culture. The book challenges the «common sense» assertion that digitization is just another step in the evolution of the culture of the editorial, film and recorded music industries and their enforcement of copyright laws. Digital technologies in contemporary culture have paradoxically undermined and, at the same time, strengthened such practices, provoking an unprecedented quarrel over the possession of, and access to, cultural products. Agustín Berti uses the release of Agrippa (A Book of the Dead) in 1992 to study this paradox. The importance of Agrippa for digital culture studies is proven through the discussion of the frequently understated importance of the materiality of digital culture. The book develops a critique of digital technology and its alleged neutrality and transparency. Ultimately, it illustrates how Agrippa anticipated a number of contemporary phenomena such as piracy, leaks, remixes, memes, and more, forcing us to rethink the concept of digital content itself and thus the way in which culture is produced, received and preserved today. Shifting focus from analyzing specific literary texts to a sociological examination of the contemporary literary scene, Simone Murray provides crucial insights into the major forces shaping this digital literary sphere. Analyzing the apparatus and institutional factors shaping contemporary online literary culture, including producers, retailers, festival organizers, evaluators, and consumers, Murray highlights how these traditionally distinct roles are radically blurring and the significance of this for all stakeholders in the literary industry.     Der vorliegende Band dokumentiert die Beiträge der Tagung „Digitale Edition zwischen Experiment und Standardisierung", die vom 6.-8. Dezember 2007 im Heinz Nixdorf Museumsforum in Paderborn stattfand. Enthalten sind sowohl die - größtenteils deutlich erweiterten - schriftlichen Fassungen der Referate als auch die Zusammenfassungen der Podiumsdiskussionen zu den drei Sektionen Konzepte digitaler Editionen, Probleme der Musikcodierung sowie Textauszeichnung bei Briefen und Tagebüchern. This volume documents the contributions of the conference "Digital Editions between Experiment and Standardization", which took place on December 6-8, 2007 in the Heinz Nixdorf Museum Forum in Paderborn. It contains the written versions of the oral presentations - here for the most part greatly expanded - as well as summaries of the panel discussions of the three conference sections: concepts of digital editions,data formats for written music, and problems of encoding letters, diaries etc.
