Special Subject Virtual Libraries ; is "ENBAS, the European Network for British Area Studies, seeks to promote the deployment of a wide range of disciplinary approaches in an interdependent and integrated examination of the societies and cultures of Britain." The website deals in particular with the growing interest in British society and culture as a result of the global spread of English studies. The primary focus of this site is Britain, however "we recognize that Britain cannot be studied in isolation, particularly from the rest of the English-speaking world and, accordingly, our work will also extend to these areas when appropriate. British Studies has, inevitably, an Irish dimension, a Commonwealth dimension and, indeed, an American dimension.".
